Hank Aaron played most of his career, 21 seasons, in the National League for the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves. He played 2 seasons in the American League, playing for the Milwaukee Brewers. Hank broke the 33 year old record of Babe Ruth by hitting 755 career home runs. Other batting records he holds are from 1955-1973, he hit 24 or more home runs every year and is 1 of 2 players to hit 30 or more home runs at least 15 times in a season. By the time he retired, Hank Aaron was the last Negro League baseball player in the MLB. Hank was ranked 5th on the list of “100 Greatest Baseball Players” and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982. He was inducted in his 1st year of eligibility. Ten teams were the Chicago American Giants, the Indianapolis ABCs, the Indianapolis Clowns, Chicago Giants, Kansas City (Missouri) Monarchs,Detroit Stars, Baltimore Black Sox, St. Louis Giants, Dayton (Ohio) Marcos, and the Cuban Stars, who didn't have a home city to play in.

The Springfield Park District’s Henson Robinson Zoo is calling all artists! Here is what we need: The zoo hopes to be opening (with Your artistic impression of a monarch butterfly or guidelines) Saturday, March 20th for the flower that the monarch may enjoy. 2021 season and we want to celebrate ● It must be able to be attached and hang from March Monarch Madness! You may very fine fishing line. The line will be attached to already know that the Monarch is Illinois’ one of two large frames and hung in our main entrance lobby for everyone to enjoy for the state insect, but did you know that the entire year! Scholastic Bowl Results FMS Scholastic Bowl Team A competed in a match against a scholastic bowl team from Washington, MO. It came down to the last 2 questions of the match. FMS swept the last two tossups and the bonus questions Proud For a 375 to 285 win! Coach Tossup questions where answered by Ethan B, Sri T, Rohan U and Anshul N

The proceeds of the sale go towards our local artist commission that will hang permanently in the halls of FMS. The 2021 professional local artist is Felicia Olin.
Volleyball News from Coach Sturm. The FMS volleyball practice schedule for this week (Monday thru Friday) 8th grade from 4:15-5:30 PM and 7th grade from 4:45-6 PM The Falcons first game is on February 8th.

Shout out to the 7th Grade Team! Congrats, Mrs, Jachino, Ms. Jones, Mrs. Schnake, Mrs. Martin, and Mrs. Zinnen for winning the January FMS Step Challenge! Way to get moving! ~Mrs. Osmonson The team logged 1,435,973 total steps in 24 days, and team members had a daily average of 11,966 steps each!
Shout out to Mrs. Reynolds! I would like to give Mrs. Reynolds a shout out because whenever anyone in her class is struggling with something and if it’s an assignment, she is there to help. Also sometimes her kids visit our class because it’s at the end of the day. And I just think Mrs. Reynolds has made me like science even more because she’s the one teaching me. Shout out to Mrs. Durr! Mrs. Durr is one of the best. When I come in to the zoom (AP and in Health) she always have a smile on her face. When we are talking about health she makes everything so clear and when she tells our class she is very cool and funny. It really makes my day. Thank you Mrs. Durr. ~Alex D.
