NORTH HIGH WEEKLY NORTH HIGH SCHOOL Friday, Feb. 5 2021 -NORTH HIGH WEEKLY - DAKTRONICS SPOTLIGHT LOCAL TV STATION HIGHLIGHTS NORTH’S LIVESTREAM TEAM Jan Bowe’s Entertainment Technology class at North is in its fifth year. Through the years, these students have grown the program to include livestreaming, student-created commercials, videos and graphics. All students have a place to develop their skills and to add their mix to the magic! Students also learn how to setup and manage the Daktronics Video Scoreboard in the Doghouse. This includes operating the livestream during events, a responsibility more important than ever this year. Nick Tabbert at WQOW TV-18 took notice of North’s Daktronics Team and asked to do a story to spotlight the team’s commitment to engaging the online audience. In addition, the Daktronics Team at North is completely student- driven, which is unique at the high school level. North athletics and activities is extremely fortunate to have our Daktronics Team running the show at our events. They provide an enhanced experience both in-person and via livestream that is better than I have seen at any other venue. -Mike Pernsteiner, NHS athletic director For the first time, the Daktronics Team also livestreamed swimming and hockey events this year. #HuskyPride 3
