Global Development Assistance (GDA) Customised EO • Size & duration: Target 130–150 M€, 2020-2024 • Financing composed of: • New ESA EarthWatch GDA element: 30 M€ (subscribed at Space 19+, 13 MS, will support mainly Knowledge Development activities with the European EO downstream service sector) http://eo4sd.esa.int/ • WB+ADB Space4IDA Trust Fund element: 100–120 M€ (ODA financing from mainly European Aid Agencies/Ministries, will support mainly Capacity Building and Skills Transfer activities in developing countries) • Geographic regions in 3 continents: South/Central America, Africa, Asia • WB+ADB Governance for the Trust Funds, ESA technical advisory role, • Delay in Implementation of Trustfunds due to the Covid 19 Pandemie, In Germany discussions still ongoing between WB, ADB, ESA, GIZ, DLR and BMZ • First ITTs planned for Q4 2020 / Contact: Michael.Bock@dlr.de
InCubed – Investing in Industrial Innovation Customised EO • Size & duration: Target 150 M€ (~ 61 M€ covered), 2020-2024 • Dedicated EO program to commercialize EO upstream and downstream technology • co-funded and lead by industry (industry retains IPR) – no ESA procurement • focus on marked-driven developments with a clear commercial perspective/roadmap • effective, fast implementation procedure allowing to address rapidly changing customer`s demands • Focus on SMEs and start-up companies • Announcement of Partnership Opportunity on EMITS planned for June 2020 • Submission possible over entire program phase (open call) • Support Letter for full proposal to be issued by German delegation (contact: michael.nyenhuis@dlr.de) Submission of idea sketches open at ideas.esa.int !
