1. Opening Remarks Participation in 2020‐2021 Most competitions were cancelled Around 350 registered students from 50 schools participated in inter‐school Archery and Tenpin Bowling competitions The Schools Sports Volunteer Scheme ‐ Junior Sports Reporters Scheme 30 Junior Sports Reporters from 13 schools Student Athletes Online Registration System Last year’s information can be transferred for 2021‐2022 season Team Manager (Non‐staff member) registration have to be done through the system
2. Explanation of the System of Sports Competition Mr. Watson Ng, Vice‐Chairperson Hong Kong Island & Kowloon Secondary Schools Regional Committee
2. Explanation of the System of Sports Competition Athletics Jing Ying Athletics (Team) Tournament will be resumed (as an annual event) and held in May 2022 (tentative). Teams would be invited to participate in the Tournament according to their respective overall results. Top six teams in Division 1, top two teams in Division 2 and top team each from 4 respective Area in Division 3 will be invited.

Explanation of the System of Sports Competition (Con’t) Badminton Only singles events will be arranged for all grades with the order of play as below: Game Home Team Away Team 1 1st Singles (A) 1st Singles (V) 2 2nd Singles (B) 2nd Singles (W) 3 3rd Singles (C) 3rd Singles (X) 4 4th Singles (D) 4th Singles (Y) 5 5th Singles (E) 5th Singles (Z) A team shall consist of at least 5 players in such a way as to provide 5 singles. The team that wins 3 games first will be the winner. Promotion and Relegation will NOT be adopted for all divisions in 2021‐2022 season due to the change of competition format.
2. Explanation of the System of Sports Competition (Con’t) Basketball Marathon Changed from five‐a‐side to three‐a‐side (3x3) competition. Schools may enroll one team in AB combined grade and one team in C grade in each of the Boys and Girls category. Detail competition information will be sent out in due course. Girls Football & Netball The division system (Two divisions) will be postponed and introduced in 2022‐2023 season.

Explanation of the System of Sports Competition (Con’t) Swimming Competition format will be changed in order to limit the number of participants at the venue No relay events All individual events will be swum as timed final Each school may enter TWO competitors in each event Each competitor may enter ONE individual event Promotion and Relegation will NOT be adopted for all divisions in 2021‐2022 season due to the change of competition format Individual, grade and overall awards will still be awarded Detail competition arrangement and timetable of different divisions will be sent out in due course

Explanation of the System of Sports Competition (Con’t) Squash (Team) The change of seeding arrangement (according to the result of previous season) will be postponed and effective as of 2022‐2023 season. Table Tennis Introduction of Doubles will be postponed a year and adopted in the 2022‐2023 season. The New Swaythling Cup System of play which consist of 3 single players will still be used this year.

All 8 sets must be completed and the team that wins 5 games will be the winner. Brief Outline on Outstanding Athletes Award and Sports Development Programme Since there are changes on the grade combination or normal competition format The following awards will NOT be awarded this year: The Bauhinia Bowl School Award Rising Star School Award “Sportsboy/ Sportsgirl of the year”

Introduction of All HK Schools Competition, Jing Ying Tournament and Interport Competition All Hong Kong Schools Competitions Will commence no earlier than three weeks after the relaxation of relevant guidelines for activities involving physical contact Netball Rugby Hockey Girls Football Softball Basketball Marathon from June to July 2022 Will be held in modified format Life Saving on 19th November 2021 Sports in the 2nd school term (will be further announced in Nov 2021) Gymnastics from March to May 2022

Information on Insurance and Student Athlete Registration Fee Insurance Maximum medical coverage provided by the Federation is $2,500 per person per year Advise your school/student should they wish to consider purchasing additional insurance coverage on their own Report to the Federation immediately after the accident Hand in true copies of all related documents and receipts within 3 months The insurance agent will not bear any responsibilities for any late application Student Athlete Registration Fee Each Urgent application of Student Athlete Registration will be charged HK$40 Student Athlete Online Registration System (STAR) Is open for 2021‐2022 registration from 16th Aug 2021 Registration fees involved cannot be waived or reimbursed in the event of competition / event cancellation
