GENERAL CAMP INFORMATION: • Register for all camps online at FXBGparks.com or in person at the Dorothy Hart Community Center, 408 Canal Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401 • Spaces fill on a first-come, first-served basis. • Please register for the appropriate age/grade. • Register for Fredericksburg Alert > Program Notifications to receive weather cancellation notices. Cancellations are announced by Facebook and Fred Alert. • Fee waivers available for those who qualify. SUMMER CAMP FAQ’S Read or download our Summer Camp FAQ’s (PDF) https://www.fredericksburgva.gov/989/Summer-Camps SUMMER CAMP REFUND POLICY: Individuals wishing to withdraw and/or requesting a refund must do so by contacting the Fredericksburg Parks, Recreation and Events Department. Individuals must follow up their verbal cancellation request with a written refund request and submit it to Fredericksburg Parks, Recreation and Events Department prior to cancellation deadlines. A 15% administrative fee will be charged on all refund requests for advanced cancellations. Cancellation requests less than two weeks (14 days) before camp start date are eligible for a 50% refund. And there are no refunds on cancellations less than 7 days before camp start date. There will be no refunds given to those who withdraw after program start date. BASEBALL CAMP Location: Dixon Park Ages 7 – 15 Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 11:00am During this camp players will learn throwing, fielding, hitting, and work on skills June 5 – June 9 positions. PRESCHOOL CAMP HIDEAWAY Ages 4.5 – 6 ADVENTURE CAMP For kids entering Kindergarten and First Grade in 2023-2024 school year. This beloved Ages 3 – 5 day camp is filled with adventure! YOUNG ADVENTURERS CAMP Ages 6 – 8 Our “Outside Camp” appeals to any kid that likes to be outdoors exploring nature and wild places. The name speaks for itself, as we spend an entire week exploring the outdoors. SAFETY TOWN AND SUPER HEROES CAMP Ages 3 – 5 Children are always pretending and wishing to be grown up. Safety Town will allow kids to act like grown-ups while learning basic safety precautions and introducing them to community super heroes that help keep them safe and healthy. Campers will explore aspects of being in a town where they will learn about personal safety, traffic laws and meet community super heroes along the way. They will meet a Police Officer, Firefighters and EMTs, and more. Campers will visit Doris E. Buffett Pool during the camp week to learn water safety from a certified lifeguard. SUMMER FUN FESTIVAL CAMPERS BECOME THE Ages 5 – 11 (Grades K-5th based on ’22-‘23 school year) This is an exciting FULL day one-week camp for children. Campers will get time to shadow lifeguards to get hands on experiences. This is a great camp for children considering becoming lifeguards. Campers should bring a snack, bottled water and swim gear including a towel, suit, goggles, and sunscreen. Campers will receive a junior lifeguard t-shirt, whistle, and hat upon completion. S.T.E.M. CLUB HORSEBACK RIDING CAMP SUMMER CAMP Ages 6 & up Ages 7 – 12 Mount up and step into the wonderful world of the horse. SAFE SITTER CERTIFICATION CAMP Ages 12 – 16 Babysitting is a big responsibility and you want to make sure you are ready for the task. Join us and learn all that you need to know to be a Safe Sitter. Participants will learn about safety, CPR and First Aid, childcare basics, as well as life and business skills. They will receive their “Safe Sitter” Certification upon completing this course as well as their CPR/First Aid Certification. Instructor: Parks, Recreation and Events Staff.
