New scenarios, new formats for 2020

The new beginning
On 27th March 2020, in the heart of the Covid-19 health emergency, the Board of Directors of the Salone del
Mobile.Milano announced the cancellation of the 2020 edition. The most important trade fair in the sector will
take place directly in 2021.
It was in the air for days and as already announced we were working on new formats, which we are going to
anticipate. Fuorisalone aims to expand its influence in other moments and in other ways, in addition to the
historic and consolidated Fuorisalone in April, which remains contemporary and complementary to the exhibition
at the Rho Fair.
We are convinced that Milano Design Week is a combination of many excellences, a unique moment of
exchanges, experiences, emotions, visions and that it cannot be reduced to a digital version. However, digital
can be important for companies that need to reach the Fuorisalone public even without being physically there.

What is going to happen from 15 of June 2020?
According to the dates set for the 2020 edition (15 - 21 June) Fuorisalone.it does not stop and launches its new
Fuorisalone digital platform. Our website www.fuorisalone.it will be at the core of a system that includes the
introduction of two new tools (Fuorisalone.tv and Fuorisalone meets) and the possibility to distribute content
on two new channels (Fuorisalone Japan and Fuorisalone China).

Fuorisalone digital:
One platform, 4 new tools

Fuorisalone.it enriches its offer with four new tools in addition to the reference portal of the event
www.fuorisalone.it and the magazine www.fuorisalonemagazine.it active all year long, with an editorial plan that
presents the best of design, in Milan and around the world.

The new tools Fuorisalone tv, Fuorisalone meets, Fuorisalone China and Fuorisalone Japan will be
autonomous formats but will all refer to the portal www.fuorisalone.it, which will remain the reference
platform for the new communication project, gathering together all contents.

The Fuorisalone Magazine together with the social channels, will support the distribution and sharing of
content produced according to a dedicated editorial plan, also adding further insights related to the products,
brands or designers involved.

The model we have imagined involves both the creation and the distribution of content, according to the
objectives or investment of the companies involved.
With the 2020 edition is starting a new way to communicate the Fuorisalone and we believe it will last for the
next years, when the event that we all know and love, will come back to life making us feel its peculiar magical
atmosphere.

The role of Fuorisalone.it and communication and
promotion opportunities for companies

For the 2020 edition, Fuorisalone.it reviews its structure remaining the point of reference
for the companies that would have realized an event on the occasion of Milan Design Week.

Fuorisalone.it introduces the logic of digital events, which does not virtualize the physical experience (it would
be impossible!) but propose alternative (and in this moment functional) solutions in order to share content on
multiple channels.

It is addressed to companies, designers, collectives and curators, offering everyone a dedicated solutions
starting from the “base” event page on fuorisalone.it.
According to the type of event or project and to the strategic objectives or investments, it’s possible to take into
consideration the promotional formats offered by Fuorisalone Tv, Fuorisalone Meets, Fuorisalone Magazine and
Fuorisalone social channels.

In addition to this, there is now the opportunity to increase visibility through the official Fuorisalone China
profiles and a communication dedicated to the Fuorisalone Japan community.

The event page remains the central point of the Fuorisalone.it project also in its digital version.
From the traditional model of Fuorisalone.it event page, we have eliminated all the relations with the context
(territory) and the time (dates), in order to focus more on content and connections with brands, designers,
categories and projects. We have also added the sections related to Fuorisalone Tv and Fuorisalone Meets.

The new Fuorisalone Digital event page can be directly updated by the author (brand, designer, pr...) and will
offer the possibility to insert all the contents useful to present new projects and product previews, by including
gallery of images, downloadable files, related and embedded external links (i.e. video galleries from Fuorisalone
Tv or webinar sessions from Fuorisalone Meets).

The event page will be accessible from the events guide, through a search engine (that also allows the selection
of contents for filters: brands, designers, categories, projects), from the magazine articles, from social post, from
the newsletter and external sources.
Our goal is to improve the user experience and to increase brand visibility.

A new promotional device

Fuorisalone Tv is a new device that becomes an integral part of the Fuorisalone.
it platform. Designed in order to increase the digital communication of the
brands taking part in Fuorisalone Digital, it offers two different kind of presence
by offering a live streaming schedule from June 15th to June 21st 2020 and a
section of video on demand organized by channels and types.

The new format is based on video broadcasting, defined by a schedule of
events with different formats:

- something that physically happens in a specific place and time and is broadcast
  in live streaming and included within the program
- a video presentation of a product or project pre-packaged and and included
  within the program
- a corporate institutional video or documentary on demand
- thematic series on demand

both for the production of video on demand and for the recording and the live
broadcast.

The Brand organizes a live event and produces an RTMP video stream.
The video stream is received by FuorisaloneTV and broadcast live on the site and
on the Facebook page of Fuorisalone.it

Pack Live Production
The Brand asks for the arrangement and transmission of a live event with guests
in remote video conferencing in different locations. FuorisaloneTV takes care of
of the direction. The video will be broadcast live on Fuorisalone TV and on the
Facebook page of Fuorisalone.it, and will be made available on Fuorisalone TV
until March 2021. The Brand will be provided with a copy of the files.

Production and distribution by Fuorisalone.it

Pack Live Studio Production
The Brand asks for the arrangement and transmission of a live event with guests
in a location or studio provided by FuorisaloneTV. FuorisaloneTV takes care of

Facebook page of Fuorisalone.it, and will be made available on Fuorisalone TV
until March 2021. The Brand will be provided with a copy of the files.

Pack Pre-production
The Brand requests Studiolabo to produce a promotional video of max 5 minutes.
The video will be produced, edited, broadcast live and/or made available on
FuorisaloneTV in on-demand mode until March 2021. A copy of the files will be

A webinar is a public event that takes place on line.
Thanks to Fuorisalone Meets who presents and conducts the event can use

on a public or private chat.

In May 2020 Fuorisalone.it will open its official accounts in China called
             FUORISALONE (Milan Design Week Fuorisalone) starting with the
launch of the official Fuorisalone accounts on WeChat and Weibo.

The editorial plan for these channels includes the promotion of the best of
Western design and content related to design history and project culture,
but also the best of Chinese design thanks to the partnership with Shenzhen
Creative Week.

Channel launch and relationship with Shenzhen - SZCW

While the strategy, content creation and management is carried out in
collaboration with the company Digital to Asia, the part of promotion and
communication to the Chinese public of professionals is developed in
collaboration with the Design Department of Shenzen Creative Week, one of the
three most important fairs in China, aimed at design and furniture.

With its 160k visitors and 500 brand exhibitors at its 34th edition in 2019,
SZCW is the ideal partner to launch the project and present the channels to the
professionals involved in the fair.
The plan foresees the launch of the channels in May and dedicated
communication in the spaces of the fair with the creation of an installation by
Fuorisalone China hosted in the pavilions of the fair in order to increase the
attention to the project.

How to participate in the project

The client, once chosen the type of solution proposed, has to send the material
to be published in a word format, in Italian or English or directly in Chinese.
Images in jpg format, attachments in pdf or video version (various formats) are
required. Also the graphic material of coordinated image is required, such as
logos or other characteristic elements in editable vector format, .ai or .eps.

Studiolabo and Digital to Asia will develop together the content for local social
networks, translating the texts into Chinese, layout the posts and articles
and finally publishing the content, in accordance with the expectations of the
Chinese market and the shared editorial calendar.

The design network between Italy and Japan

Fuorisalone.jp is an online platform and a consulting service that aim to
communicate the best of Japanese design, creativity and lifestyle through the
typical occidental language and design-thinking, starting with the creation of
dedicated communication tools.

It promotes to the Japanese public the best of design on stage in Milan during
design week and connects the Italian-Japanese design community into a single
network, creating a cultural and commercial bridge between the two worlds.

Fuorisalone.jp intends to represent the ideal container of all design projects
made for and in Japan, strong of the relationship and of the privileged
relationship with Milan and its Design Week. To achieve this goal over the next
3 years, Studiolabo will activate a series of collaborations in order to create an
international network.

Why Fuorisalone Japan?

Japan today represents a strategically very important potential market,
extremely stimulating and rich in contents, skills and craftsmanship excellences:

in different contexts but often without connection with each other and without

from our database.

Fuorisalone.jp aims to stimulate the interest of the Japanese public by
producing a selection of editorial content and promoting advertisers in order
to bring traffic on the main channels of fuorisalone.it, magazine, tv and social
profiles.

How to be on the Fuorisalone.it platform

The Fuorisalone.it platform offers different possibilities of membership
depending on: the type of content you want to propose, the role and
investment capacity.

The starting point is the subscription to the digital event page choosing among
the three proposals offered in: Pack Basic, Plus, Extra.
The minimum investment is 500 € + VAT, the highest is 2.000 € + VAT.
Is possible to add a promotional adv format on the website or a schedule on
social channels.

It’s also possible to integrate to this offer a format dedicated to Fuorisalone TV,
