FROM THE DESK OF THE CEO
As I sit and write my first report for the telegraph, my thoughts go back to when I knew I was
making a big change, along with my wife Kristine, to our lives’ in moving to Sandstone.
The common theme amongst people when told that I was moving to Sandstone, were “Beautiful
Town”,” love that area of WA”, and ”we visit there often”.
All positive comments and I look forward to a productive and rewarding five years with council.
The February meeting dealt with the following items.
Budget amendment to facilitate the purchase of a new fuel trailer
Finalise the sale of lots in Payne and Green Streets
Carbon Farming
Budget Amendment to accommodate the LRCIP Grants received by Council
Comments on the Petroleum Pipeline Licence
Full details of these matters can be found on councils’ website in the Minutes.
Over the next few months, I hope to meet all the people in town, as well as familiarising myself
with our road network, which will include knocking on a few station doors to introduce myself.
Along with myself, other staff changes include the employment of William Marwick - Grader
Operator, Stephen Hampel - Plant Operator, Sancia Herold - Cleaner.and Sandy Jubb Caravan
Park Caretaker.
Our condolences to the Family of Vicki Thompson on her recent passing.

On 3rd March, Direct Heating & Cooling are coming to Sandstone to
service the shire Air Conditioners.

COMMUNITY BUS TAKING PASSENGERS TO MT MAGNET
The Sandstone Community Bus will be travelling to Mt Magnet regularly for Shire business.
If anyone needs to travel to Mt Magnet, we usually have available seats.
The bus will leave from the Sandstone Shire Administration office at 10am and will leave
Mt. Magnet at 1.30pm for the return trip home.
Please book your seat by contacting either Rhonda or Margaret at the Shire office ph. 9963 5802
The Community Bus is a free service provided by the Shire

INGREDIENTS
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 brown onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves
2 carrots trimmed, coarsely grated
150g chopped kale
8 eggs
85g ricotta cheese reduced fat
3 zucchini, finely grated excess moisture squeezed out
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
METHOD
Step 1
Preheat oven to 180/160C fan-forced. Lightly spray a 20 x 30cm baking pan with oil and line the
base with baking paper, allowing the 2 long sides to overhang.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring
often, for 3-4 minutes or until softened. Add the garlic and carrot and cook, stirring, for 1 minute
or until garlic is aromatic. Add the kale and cook, stirring for 3 minutes or until wilted. Season
and set aside for 5 minutes to cool slightly.
Step 3
Whisk the eggs and ricotta together in a large bowl. Add the cooked vegetables, zucchini, pars-
ley. Season. Spoon the mixture into the prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden
and puffed and firm to the touch.
Set aside for 10 minutes to cool, before cutting into 6 slices.
