And even when something from the outside doesn’t threaten, we are good at sabotaging our own efforts. Forgive us when we don’t build on the foundations you have given us – faith, hope, and love. Forgive us for neglecting those foundations. And help us to have a spirit like you gave Nehemiah, to rebuild even in the face of destruction and despair, for we ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen Words of Assurance Pastor Tommy In the Name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. In the Name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven, Glory to God! Amen. Healthy Church Update Masks are not required for vaccinated people, but they are recommended. We ask unvaccinated people to continue wearing masks for their safety. Worship Update Beginning October 3, we will be shifting to two services – 9am (Traditional) and 10:30am (Modern) on Sundays. On September 26, our single service will be in the Modern style so that everyone can have an idea of what it will be like. • We will need ushers, greeters, a/v volunteers, and helpers to make this happen. (These are the “multipliers”, along with all who bring family or friends) • We will need lots of prayer so that both services can be vital and growing, along with prayers for our community. • We will also need encouragement for everyone, no matter what service they attend. • Sunday School: classes can choose to begin at 9 (or earlier), 10:30, or 11:30. Classes are encouraged to choose a time that suits their members best. Children’s Church Children’s Church will be happening by October 3! Prayers and volunteers to assist are welcome! On September 23, this Thursday, the Wesley Circle and the Wednesday Circle will meet in the Church fellowship hall at 10 a.m. for a joint meeting. I am excited to form new plans for the coming year. From Katie Thurston on 9/14/21~ I’m saddened to share today that after a short battle with cancer, my Dad passed today around 4. We were all there, his siblings and mine. He was the best Dad, he was my hero, my protector, my teacher, my coach, he was the best of everything good. My Dad never knew a stranger, he rarely said no (especially to my kids haha), he was always first to help someone in a time of need. He always preached of giving and taking advantage of every opportunity. I say that to share, even in his passing my amazing Dad was able to donate his eyes to someone who needed them. I challenge everyone to be like my Dad, be the giver, the helper, the motivator. Donate Life, find your own path to help through organ donation. Make the change for people that they would never get the chance to get. We will miss my Dad terribly, my kids will miss their G. But we have the BEST angel watching over us for the rest of our lives. We love you all, I will update everyone soon with the arrangements we have made. We extend our condolences to the Sanderson family in the death of Elwin Sanderson, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. We extend our condolences to Helen Rountree and family in the death of her sister, Mary Rountree, on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.
