FashionTeens – GUIDELINES FashionTeens is a production of Pivot: The Art of Fashion in collaboration with the Santa Cruz County Office of Education. FashionTeens is open to ALL middle and high school students in Santa Cruz County and culminates in a live runway show at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium on Friday, April 23, 2021. Important update regarding this year's FashionTeens 2021 show: While there is still uncertainty regarding Covid-19 and large gatherings, we are simultaneously planning for a live event and virtual event. We successfully pivoted to a virtual event last year on short notice, and we are confident we can do so again. We will do our best to provide materials and support to students with either plan. Please list your name, contact information, and the specific materials you need. For example: Your Name / your_email@gmail.com / I need glue, fabric, blue and yellow paint, brushes. FashionTeens – 2021 Dates: • February 26, 2021: Applications due at the Santa Cruz County Office of Education – include: Completed Application • Application Fee • Photo Release Form • sketches or photographs • Week of March 8th: Acceptance and Conditional Emails sent out • April 9th: Photo of your outfit (Should be mostly complete) to help us determine the line-up. You will not be able to walk in the show if we do not receive this photo. Essays for the ARRT and Trash-N-Fashion Awards are also due at this time. • Friday, April 23 – FashionTeens at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium 3:00-4:00 – Arrive! Hair and make-up will start at this time 4:00 – If you are not at the Civic by 4:00, you will not be able to walk in the show 4:00-6:00 – Dress rehearsal: Judging for all awards will happen at this time 6:00 – Hair and Make-up, as well as snack/dinner (Light refreshments provided) 7:00-8:30 The Show begins!

FashionTeens: MINOR RELEASE FORM pg. 2 I, the undersigned, am the parent or guardian of the below named minor child. I, the undersigned, being of legal age, do hereby consent and grant to Fashion Teens Santa Cruz (hereinafter referred to as “FT”), permission to photograph, video, and use their image on social media for educational and publicity purposes the below named minor child in connection with the production, FT. I hereby grant to FashionTeens, their successors, assigns and licensees the perpetual right to use, as you may desire, all still and motion pictures, and the right to use his/her name or likeness in or in connection with the exhibition, advertising, exploiting and/or publicizing of the FT. I, further agree and warrant that the below named minor child will not disaffirm or disavow said consent and permission on the grounds that he/she was a minor on the date of execution thereof or any similar grounds whatsoever, or endeavor to recover from you personally or through any guardian, any sums for participating in the FT. I hereby release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue the promoter, participants, sanctioning organization or any subdivision thereof, promoters, sponsors, advertisers, owners, lessees of premises used to conduct the event and each of them, their officers, agents and employees, all for the purposes herein referred to as "Releases," from all liability to the undersigned, my/our personal representatives, assigns, executors, heirs and next of kin for any and all claims, demands, losses or damages on account of any injury, including but not limited to the death of the participant or damage to property, caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the "Releases" or otherwise. FashionTeens APPLICATION – 2021 pg. 5 This is a competitive process. A panel of jurors will decide which student designs to invite to participate in the show based on your complete application. This must include: Check when Completed Requirements 1. Completed application 2. Entry fee of $10 or scholarship request 3. Written design concept 4. Description of materials 5. Construction techniques 6. Croqui (Sketch) 7. Minor Release Form – signed by parents 8. Optional: Due April 9th – You may choose to participate in the Trash-N-Fashion and/or ARRT Awards. However, you must write an essay.
