FALL 2021 PROGRAM GUIDE SEPTEMBER IS LIBRARY CARD SIGN UP MONTH If you've been thinking about signing up for a library card, there's no better time! NATIONAL CLEAN UP DAY* 10 AM - 1 PM - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH Join Ida Public Library as we pick up trash, clean up the environment around the library, and make the outdoors a more enjoyable experience for everyone! Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Sign up on our events page to pick your clean up area. VIRTUAL ART GALLERY ALL OCTOBER October is National Arts & Humanities Month! All through October, submit your art pieces through our website to display on the Ida Public Library Facebook page. All skill levels welcome! DAY OF THE DEAD* 3:30 PM - TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2ND Have you ever wondered how other cultures celebrate their holidays? Please join us on Zoom for our Day of the Dead celebration. FAMILY READING NIGHT THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH Every year Illinois hosts a statewide event for Family Reading Night to end the Illinois Reads program, encouraging families to come together and read! Pick up a special activity kit for the whole family while supplies last. IDA'S 24 HOUR READATHON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 28TH Check some books off your TBR with this all day celebration of reading! Grab a game board from the library to participate, then hop on Facebook to follow along with fun reading prompts, discussion posts, and activities from 10 AM to 10 3 AM! TWEENSTEAM 4 PM - 1ST THURSDAY Each month, join us for a fun new outdoor science demonstration. While weather permits, meet outside in the grassy lot near the library to participate in messy science, building challenges, and more! Check out our Facebook page for videos in case of inclement weather. For ages 8-14, but little ones with parents are welcome. TEEN & TWEEN PRORGRAMS GAME GUILD* 4 PM - 2ND & 4TH FRIDAYS Do you like playing video games? Have you ever thought of making one? Join our video game development club to learn everything you need to make your own video games! Twice a month, meet through Zoom to walk through game creation step-by-step, then work on your own! Space is limited. Please register for this program. For ages 11 - 18. IDA'S EXPLORERS 4 PM - 2ND & 4TH THURSDAYS It's time to get outdoors! Meet outside with a librarian at conservation areas in Boone County to participate in fun activities like birdwatching, prairie seed collection, leaf rubbings, and more! Watch the Facebook page for details about meeting places. For ages 9-14. ANIME CLUB 4 PM - TUESDAYS Our weekly anime club continues through the fall! Meet and mingle with your fellow anime fans, discuss your favorite watches and reads, and play games. While weather permits, we will meet outside.
