feature FEELING SUPERIOR on the Shores of the Greatest Lake By Michelle McChristie One might think that living on the world’s largest freshwater lake might give a community a feeling of superiority, but this is not the case in Thunder Bay. We know the lake is awesome, but you won’t hear a lot of people bragging about it. In fact, more people have cottages—which we affectionately refer to as camps—on smaller lakes where the water is a little calmer and a tad warmer. Truth be told, there are a lot of smaller lakes in the area that are a pretty enticing escape, but nothing compares to the beauty and splendour of Lake Superior. 14 THUNDER BAY EXPERIENCE 2022
