Cleland Wildlife Park Experience - Agent Notes Larger groups can be accommodated on request. Please ask guests to dress appropriately for the weather noting it can be a few degrees cooler in the Adelaide Hills. We recommend guests wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and sunhat. * This tour includes the koala ‘close up’ experience. An optional koala ‘hold’ experience is available for an additional fee from AUD$30.50 pp. The koala ‘hold’ experience cannot be pre-booked. Please note that due to animal welfare regulations, the koala experiences can be cancelled by the park without notice. Also note they do not operate on days forecast above 32 degrees Celsius (Mount Barker). This tour does not cater to children under 4 years of age and all other children must be accompanied by a fare paying adult. Additional Descriptions Be amazed with the views from Mount Lofty Summit - before arriving at the wildlife park, we take a short stop at Mount Lofty Summit to enjoy the magnificent panorama over Adelaide. At approximately 710m, the summit is the highest point in the Adelaide Hills with uninterrupted views to the Gulf St. Vincent and as far as the eye can see north and south along the coastline. Experience the Cleland Wildlife Park difference - this 35-hectare natural bush setting provides a unique open space environment with very few enclosures. It is home to over 130 species of native animals and is one of only a few places in the world where you can hold a koala. Cleland Wildlife Park is well known for its management and care in the health and wellbeing of the animals. Choose your Koala encounter * - get up close to Australia’s iconic Koala! Your entry fee includes the ‘close- up’ experience where you can meet, touch and photograph one of the park’s cutest inhabitants while listening to the keepers who care for them. Walk among the free roaming animals - as you explore the park and follow the self-discovery trails, find an abundance of native wildlife and walk among the free roaming animals in their natural environment. Explore the lively wetlands where the pelicans, cormorants and water birds live. See kangaroos, emus, dingoes, wallabies, Tasmanian devils and many more! Enjoy an immersive experience - engaging with the park’s friendliest inhabitants provide a truly immersive experience. The best way to get up close to the kangaroos, wallabies and potoroos is by hand feeding them with the included animal food. Remember to save some for the emus and waterfowl as you make your way around the park! Morialta Wilderness and Wildlife Hike Be amazed by the breathtaking landscape of this national park. As you follow the trails with your guide, witness an abundance of native flora and wildlife around the remarkable rock faces, gorges and seasonal waterfalls. Morialta Wilderness and Wildlife Hike - Agent Notes Larger groups can be accommodated on request. This hike is graded moderate. It involves some inclines and uneven surfaces and a good level of fitness and mobility is required. The total distance walked is approximately 6 km over approximately 3 hours. The tour has a minimum age requirement of 12 (except for private groups) and all other children must be accompanied by a fare paying adult. Please ask your guests to dress appropriately for the weather. We recommend comfortable walking / hiking shoes, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses and bring a small lightweight backpack for personal items. Bring a full water bottle (encourage reusable). Any dietary restrictions must be advised at time of booking. Additional Descriptions A unique nature based experience - Morialta is part of the traditional lands of the Kaurna people and derives its name from the aboriginal word ‘Moriatta’ meaning ever flowing! The waterfalls, gorges and 500 hectares of natural bushland in Morialta have provided a popular escape for locals over the past 100 years. This tour provides an active and immersive experience that enriches the understanding of nature and the importance of looking after it. Bushwalking wilderness - start your morning adventure along the Morialta walking trails as the bush wakes from its night slumber. As you follow the trails, discover amazing rock faces, gorges and seasonal waterfalls. Witness the dawn colours bounce on the spectacular rugged vistas and capture the sense of nature while discovering the natural wonders of this national reserve. Admire native animals in the wild - Morialta is the best place in Adelaide where you can see koalas in the wild! It offers a unique biodiversity where many native animals can be spotted including the occasional kangaroo or echidna. The creeks, rock pools and the higher slopes of the Gorge offer a perfect habitat to several species of frogs and small lizards such as geckos, skinks, and dragons. Visit all three waterfalls - the seasonal waterfalls along Fourth Creek are one of the best known features of the park. Morialta Falls and Second Falls are the grandest, each cascading over sheer quartzite cliffs. Nestled at the end of the trail is the less visited but most tranquil Third Falls – be stunned by its peaceful and natural setting and take the time to listen to the softly cascading water. See amazing birdlife and wildflowers - listen to the sounds and observe the many native birds such as the Superb Fairy-wren, rare Golden Whistler, Rainbow Lorikeet and the iconic Laughing Kookaburra. Adelaide City to Sea Bike Tour A landscape of blue seas and golden sands await as you cycle through the streets of Adelaide’s riverbank precinct and follow the inspiring river trails to the beach! Adelaide City to Sea Bike Tour - Agent Notes Please ask guests to wear clothing suitable for cycling, enclosed footwear and bring sunscreen, sunglasses, sunhat, a reusable drink bottle and a small backpack to carry personal items. (the bikes do not have baskets). The approximate ride distance is an easy 22km, essentially flat and follows on dedicated bike paths, pedestrian ways and trails. The height of each rider is to be provided at time of booking to allow the bike sizes to be prepared prior to the tour departure. Minimum height of riders is 148cm. This tour does not cater to children under 12 years of age (except for private group bookings) and all other children must be competent riders and accompanied by a fare paying adult. Note that the tour includes an open ocean boat cruise and ocean breezes can be 10 Celsius cooler than the mainland. A waterproof jacket is supplied for the cruise. Also bring sunscreen, sunglasses, sunhat, and a small backpack to carry personal items. Note that the boat cruise is operated by Big Duck boat tours. The maximum passenger capacity (27) is higher than that of the rest of your pureSA tour. This cruise operates in the open ocean and wind and ocean swells can cause bumpy conditions. The boat cruise is not recommended for pregnant women. This cruise may be cancelled in inclement weather. This tour does not cater to children under 18 years of age. Waterfall Gully to Mt Lofty Summit Hike Challenge yourself on Adelaide’s favourite hike! This tough, yet rewarding self-guided hike takes you from the serenity of Waterfall Gully and along the trails of Cleland Conservation Park to the summit at Mount Lofty. At 710m witness stunning panoramic views over-looking the Adelaide plains and Gulf St Vincent. Highlights Start the day fresh, active and inspired! In an area abundant with native wildlife you will hike past waterfalls, along streams and follow the gully ridges. Specifically structured as a self-guided hike to give plenty of time to explore at your own pace. Return transport direct to the trail head provides hassle free and easy access to this popular trail. An orientation is provided to assist you with timings, point out areas of interest to stop and highlight the well-marked trails. At the summit there will be time to admire the stunning views across Adelaide and beyond. Then treat yourself to an energising coffee and snack at the Summit Café before taking the return route back to the trailhead. Waterfall Gully to Mt Lofty Summit Hike - Agent Notes Larger groups and guided options can be accommodated upon request. This hike is graded as hard. The Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty Hike involves steep sections and some uneven surfaces, and a good level of fitness and mobility is required. The hike is approximately 2 – 3 hours return (7.8km). The tour has a minimum age requirement of 12 and is NOT recommended for young children. All other children must be accompanied by a fare paying adult. Please ask your guests to dress appropriately for the weather. We recommend comfortable walking / hiking shoes, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses and bring a small lightweight backpack for personal items. Bring a full reusable water bottle which can be refilled for free at Mount Lofty Summit with fresh spring water. Any dietary restrictions must be advised at time of booking. Additional Descriptions Breathe the fresh morning air at Waterfall Gully - a short scenic drive from the City takes you direct to the trailhead of Adelaide’s most popular hike. Arriving around 8.30am, be amazed by your first sight of the spectacular First Falls sparkling in the morning sunshine. Setting off at your own pace and depending upon your interest stops along the way, expect to take between 1 to 2 hours to arrive at the Summit. Appreciate the serenity of nature with a morning hike - fully immerse yourself in the environment and sense the wilderness while listening to the sounds of the native birdlife. Detect the distinctive scents of the eucalyptus trees as the 3.9km trail climbs past waterfalls, along streams and gully ridges. Keep a keen eye out for sleepy koalas high in the gum trees, small lizards or even a kangaroo grazing in the bush! Be rewarded with mind-blowing views - sense the feeling of height as you reach the summit and be rewarded with breathtaking views over Adelaide and beyond. See the city buildings, parklands and iconic Adelaide Oval, look out across the plains to the Airport, the coastal town of Glenelg and the far reaches of Port Adelaide. On a clear day, you may even sight Kangaroo Island! Re-energise at the Summit Café - the Café is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a morning coffee or brunch (own expense) while admiring the views. Be sure to take some time to learn some interesting facts and history about the Summit before heading back down to Waterfall Gully. Aim to leave the summit in time to meet your driver back at Waterfall Gully by 12.00pm. The return hike should take around 1 hour. Tips: Toilets are available at both Waterfall Gully trailhead and Mount Lofty Summit. A drink bottle refill station (fresh spring water) is available for free at the summit. Cleland Hike and Wildlife Feeling adventurous? Combining the Waterfall Gully to Mt Lofty Hike with the Cleland Wildlife Park is a great way to maximise your day while connecting with nature. Follow the 4km trek to the summit to enjoy the views then follow the trail 2km to Cleland and engage with Australia's unique and curious wildlife! The Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty Hike is graded as hard. It involves steep sections and some uneven surfaces, and a good level of fitness and mobility is required. The hike distance is 4km (ascent) to the summit and 2km (descent) to Cleland. Swim with the Giant Cuttlefish - Agent Notes We recommend you wear good quality walking shoes for the hiking trails at Alligator Gorge. Wetsuit and all snorkel gear for the cuttlefish activity are provided. This is a winter activity and it could be cold so warm clothes are highly recommended. You will need to bring your own warm towel and dry clothes to change into after the cuttlefish swim. Also, don't forget your camera, sunscreen, sunhat, sunglasses and raincoat!
