MESSAGE FROM THE EGA PRESIDENT It is my privilege and honour to welcome all Competitors, Captains and Officials to the European Boys’ Team Championship, Jean-Louis Dupont Trophy. We are most grateful to the Danish Golf Union and to Furesø Golfklub for organising the event and hosting us all. My thanks go to all the officials, staff and volunteers who work so hard to make this tournament so enjo- yable for everyone. I am sure that all competitors will enjoy this beautiful venue. This event will be another opportunity for great golf, where some of Euro- pe’s most talented amateur golfers come together to compete at the highest level of team golf in friendly rivalry. My best wishes to the teams, officials and supporters. Play well, enjoy yourselves and I hope that you will all get the chance to make new friendships, which may well last a lifetime. Haukur Örn Birgisson President European Golf Association
DANISH GOLF UNION - MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Dear Players – Captains – visitors and officials! I wish you all a warm welcome to Denmark and Furesø Golfklub for this year’s European Boys’ Team Championship. We have been looking forward to host you all, and I know that a lot of ef- fort has been made – to give you the best possible experience both on as well as off the course during your stay. Furesø Golfklub was a natural choice for us, the nice course and their engagement in Amateur Golf – and they did not think many seconds to say “yes” – when asked to host this event. Organizing such an event for the National Federation is not possible without extreme support from the hosting club, their staff, members and many volunteers, so from me a ”THANK YOU”, these kind of events cannot be done without your engagement and dedication. As a player you will have the opportunity to play one of the best courses in Denmark, in a very nice area – but also with a lot of challenges, so be careful out there and be ready for the last 4 holes which has changed many golf rounds both up and down. Junior golf is a very important part of the golf world, with many talented players with high ambitions and for many of you with dreams of standing in the professional arena one day and maybe even the Olympics. The way to fulfill this goal is through our extensive junior program in clubs, federations and international tournaments. The Boys’ Team Championship is absolutely one of these events and many former participants are today playing on professional tours around the world. I am looking forward to watching some excellent golf matches with high integrity and all in the fanta- stic spirit of our game. Thank you all for coming to Furesø Golfklub in Denmark, hopefully making this event memorable for all of us, players, organizers, volunteers and visitors, so we can all look back at this event with good memories and having made new friendships. Play well! Lars Broch Christensen President Danish Golf Federation
FURESØ GOLFKLUB - MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Furesø Golfklub is delighted and honored to host the 2021 European Boys’ Team Championship. Throughout its 46-year history, Furesø Golfklub has hosted several natio- nal and international tournament events. The members from the very first start of the 18-hole course will remember a young long-hitting Vijay Singh, playing at The Swedish Tour at that time, trying to hit the green from the tee box on the first hole! After some years where junior golf has suffered from declining interest, the interest among youngsters seems to be rising again. Whether this is due to Covid-19 is not known for sure, but there are many indications that we are on the way to a much-needed generational change in golf. We look forward to receiving so many young talents, among which we will surely be able to follow some on the professional scene in a couple of years. Furesø Golf Club has been a 27-hole course since 1996 – the same year the club hosted the Euro- pean Championship for Women. The Hestkøbgaard-Farum link is the champion course that will be played during the Championship. In connection with the Club’s 40th anniversary in 2015, the entire course was renovated by the Scot- tish architectural firm Mackenzie & Ebert by Tom Mackenzie. The clubhouse is a former manor house. The current main building was built in 1902-03 while the half-timbered buildings originate from a rebuilding of the farm after a fire in 1827. The clubhouse with the associated terrace forms the basis for a special atmosphere and coziness for members and visitors. Furesø Golfklub, our members, board and staff look much forward to welcoming players, guests and visitors and to showing the best of our golf club for this year’s European Boys’ Team Championship. A very warm welcome! Benny Würtz President Furesø Golfklub

FURESØ GOLFKLUB Furesø Golfklub is one of North Zealand’s best and most beautiful golf courses in charming and pea- ceful surroundings. The golf course consists of 27 holes in a medium-hilly landscape, where a couple of the holes have been nominated as some of Denmark’s best par 3 and par 4 holes. Exciting and varied course The course is divided into three exciting loops that offer varied holes and where the game is chal- lenged by many lakes, trees, bunkers, and dog-leg holes, as well as an entrance to the green which is protected by challenging run-off areas. The greens are good, fast and relatively hilly and slopy. The courses Hestkøbgaard and Farum will be played at the 2021 European Boys’ Team Championship. Redesigned by Mackenzie & Ebert The oldest loop of the course is from 1974 and has over the years been expanded with two more loops. In 2015, all 27 holes were renovated by the Scottish golf course architect Tom Mackenzie from Mackenzie & Ebert with a focus on the good and exquisite golf experience with great demands on the game in the form of challenging run-off areas and bunkers around the greens. Environmentally conscious Furesø Golfklub makes a great effort to protect and preserve nature, which resulted in the Danish Golf Sports Environmental Award in 2014 as the first golf club in Denmark. High course standard Furesø Golfklubis a top golf course in good condition with a high course standard, which is good in all weather conditions and is always worth a visit.
