Have you ever wanted to try Wheelchair Basketball? Wheelchair Basketball Clinic Wednesday, March 16, 2022 5:00-8:00PM Grant Park Recreation Center, 44 W Golfview Dr, Northlake, IL 60164 During this clinic participants will practice wheelchair basketball, learn different rules, skills, and techniques. The clinic will run from 5:00-6:30pm and then participants can stay to play (or watch) a wheelchair basketball game. The clinic is open to anyone ages 3-22 with a physical impairment, we encourage you to bring friends and to play with you. *Sport chairs will be provided for all athletes. WSSRA Spolight Meet WSSRA’s New Recreation Specialist! We are excited for Megan Foster to join our team as a Recreation Specialist. Megan will be overseeing our aquatics and sports and fitness programming. She has been a part-time staff with WSSRA for nearly 16 years! Megan is passionate about Therapeutic Recreation and is thrilled to have this amazing opportunity. In her free time she likes to go on walks with her dog, practice violin and guitar, exercise, and play racquetball. She is looking forward to meeting new people and coaching all the talented athletes at WSSRA! Help us welcome Megan to the WSSRA Team! In-Person Programs: Guidelines & Protocols The safety of our participants, families and staff is our top priority. WSSRA will be monitoring state and federal regulations closely and will make adjustments as guidelines are updated. Visit our website for updated information at WSSRA.NET WSSRA UPDATED COVID-19 PROCEDURES STARTING MONDAY, FEBRUARY 28 WSSRA updated Covid-19 procedures starting Monday, February 28 to align with the states transition and allow mask optional participation in all WSSRA programs. We will encourage masking and social distancing, however, it will not be required. Please note we will support everyone’s individual comfort and decisions. WSSRA Transportation: Masks will continue to be required by all while riding the WSSRA vehicles. WSSRA Participants & Staff: Masks will be optional. Personal Care: When staff are assisting with personal care they must wear a mask as well as the participant who is receiving the personal care must wear a mask. In-Person Programs: Guidelines & Protocols Participant COVID-19 Health Screening In order to protect the health and safety of participants and staff, all WSSRA participants and staff must complete a COVID-19 health screening, on their own, prior to arriving to program each day. Having symptoms? Regardless of vaccination status, you should refrain from attending program when you have signs or symptoms of COVID-19, including: • Fever or chills • Cough • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing • Fatigue • Muscle or body aches • Headache • New loss of taste or smell • Sore throat • Congestion or runny nose • Nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea What to do If You’ve had a known exposure to COVID-19 If a participant has been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, or is currently waiting on the results of a COVID-19 test, please refrain from going to program and contact Annie Hart for further guidance at annieh@wssra.net or (847) 455-2100 ext. 230.
