The Cylinder Head Alloy leverages material design to help automakers increase efficiency of internal Vedanta, Propelling India Ahead with the combustion engines for improved performance on emission control. 'Metal of the Future': Vedanta is the first Indian company to manufacture Cylinder Head First-Ever Cover Story Alloy for the automotive industry. ELEMENTAL PAGE 01
HIGHLIGHTS Group CEO, Mr. Sunil Duggal's maiden visit to our Jharsuguda Operations along with Mr. Rahul Sharma, Dy. CEO - Aluminium Business Mr Sunil Duggal, Group CEO, and Mr. Rahul Sharma, Dy. CEO-Aluminium Business, visited Jharsuguda operations and led business plan sessions with senior leadership and various teams. Leading the key discussions on the business plans, they appreciated the team for their efforts and expressed their confidence in the team for achieving the business goals. On their tour of the plant, they interacted with shop- floor employees and business partners, inquiring about their safety and wellbeing, and motivating them to do their best. They also interacted with all employees at a special 'CEO Connect' session which was hosted by CEO Jharsuguda, Mr. CN Singh, where they shared the Group's vision for future, key projects and sustainability as the need of the hour for ensuring operational excellence. Mr. Ajay Kapur's visit to Jharsuguda Unit On his visit to our Jharsuguda Aluminium and Power operations, Mr. Kapur had a wonderful time interacting with our employees and the leadership team. He also led various discussions with our business partners and the safety, environment, security, metal and social responsibility teams, reinforcing business priorities for this year. Image Intensifier Installed at BALCO Hospital BALCO Hospital has gained the reputation of being one of the best medical facilities in Korba, and has been playing a pivotal role in providing state-of-the- art healthcare facilities for the communities. Recently, BALCO Hospital has added an advanced Image Intensifier, aka, C-Arm available in the healthcare world for orthopedic surgeries, bolstering the hospital's healthcare facilities. HSE & SUSTAINABILITY Vedanta Jharsuguda Commemorates 32nd Road Safety Month Wrapping the Road Safety month, Vedanta Jharsuguda organized a Road Safety Awareness march, led by Mr. GG Pal, COO - Metal, Mr. Anjan Sinha, COO - Power, and Mr. Ajay Pandey, Head - HSF & Sustainability. With participation of hundreds of employees and business partners, the awareness march culminated with reaffirmation of our commitment towards safety, to build a responsible and sustainable business driven by the ethos of 'Zero Harm'. Bike Rally for Road Safety Organized at BALCO and Lanjigarh Our BALCO and Lanjigarh Units organized bike rallies in association with Chhattisgarh Traffic Police and Lanjigarh Police, respectively. Employees of both units participated in the event to spread awareness about road safety. They also took an oath reiterating Vedanta's commitment towards safe practices. Safety Stand Down at TSPL on Road Safety As part of the road safety campaign, a Safety Stand Down was conducted at TSPL. The leaders emphasized the importance of road safety as well as sensitized the employees about the Dos and Don'ts of road safety. Policy pocket cards, ready reckoners on safe driving tips, were distributed to the employees. BALCO Organized Health Camp For Truck Drivers BALCO’s Traffic Wing organized a health camp for truck drivers where they underwent general check-up, HIV testing and eye check- up. COMMUNITY & US Inauguration of Tailoring Training Centre For Women at Lanjigarh Vedanta has set up a Tailoring Training Centre in Lanjigarh to diversify sustainable livelihood and micro- entrepreneurship avenues among rural women. Driven by the objective to enable women through skill development and financial empowerment, this Centre will provide training to women so that they can start their own ventures and establish themselves as micro- entrepreneurs. Supporting the National Pulse Polio Immunisation Program at Jharsuguda Vedanta supported the Pulse Polio Immunization drive at 16 booths in Jharsuguda in partnership with District Administration and Wockhardt Foundation, reaching out to 2000+ children in the process. Filariasis Elimination Awareness Campaign at Jharsuguda Vedanta Jharsuguda extended its support to the District Health Administration (DHA) in Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination Awareness campaign at Jharsuguda. The CSR team conducted an awareness 'rath yatra', covering approximately 80 villages of the district. The yatra was flagged off by Dr. Lal Mohan Routray, Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), in the presence of other government officials. World Cancer Day Observed at Vedanta's Nand Ghar at Lanjigarh The company organized a two-day program and conducted knowledge-sharing and sensitization sessions covering 50 Nand Ghars.
