FABRIC RANGE POLYESTER History of polyester • Polyester was invented by American Wallace Caruthers of Du Pont in 1941 by combining Ethylene Glycol and Terephthalic acid to form Polyethylene Terephthalate or PET • Du Pont decided to concentrate on Nylon and British co ICI patented the PET and created the first Polyester fibre and called it Terylene • Du Pont purchased the US rights to Terylene in 1945 and in 1950 they produced their own polyester called Dacron followed by Mylar Spun Bonded Polyester • Duette fabric is manufactured from spun bonded polyester (non-woven) • The polyester material is heated to high temperatures to become fluid and passes through tiny spinneret holes and is cooled turning it into fibres • The fibres are spun out at high speed and land on a conveyer belt and form a web of fabric • It is then thermally bonded to complete the process. 3|Page

CELL CONSTRUCTION DUETTE ARCHITELLA - UNIQUE CELL CONSTRUCTION Duette Architella shades have a patented honeycomb-within-a- honeycomb construction for a higher level of energy efficiency. Three distinct air pockets reduce heat transfer, helping to keep the home warmer in winter and cooler in summer. ILLUMACEL TRANSLUCENT Aurora fabrics feature Illumacell; a clear inner cell that allows light to filter through and illuminate the shade from top to bottom. 5|Page
INSULATION WARMER IN WINTER, COOLER IN SUMMER While the glass area of the home may account for about 10% of the external area, it is responsible for up to 42% - 45% of unwanted heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. Effective window insulation can dramatically improve comfort and reduce energy costs. All Luxaflex Soft Shades offer some degree of window insulation, however Duette and Duette Architella provide the most energy efficiency. The ultimate insulation solution is a fully recessed, reveal-mounted Duette Architella shade. It will reduce heat transfer through a single- glazed window by 83% and has the potential to reduce home heating costs by up to 43%. Insulation is measured in R–Value. R-value is a rating which measures how well insulation can resist heat flow. Duette Architella shades provide up to 33%* more insulation then standard insulation options including double glazed windows. The table below measures these insulation factors against other options that a consumer would otherwise use in their home. 0.9 0.8 0.7 0.6 0.5 0.4 0.3 0.2 0.1 0 *Independently tested 6|Page
UNDERSTANDING R-VALUES A product’s “R-value” is a measurement of its ability to resist heat flow*. In a home during winter, R-values indicate the ability of walls, roofs and windows to keep the heat inside. The higher its R-value, the more insulation a product provides. A fully recessed, reveal-mounted Duette Architella shade can increase the R-value of a 3mm single glazed window from 0.13 to 0.78, reducing the heat transfer through that window by 83%. Independent modelling has shown that this in turn can reduce an average home’s heating costs by up to 43%^. * The R-values are the combined measurement of 3mm (one-eighth inch) CI glass (R=0.127) plus the window covering and are reported in metric SI units. Thermal properties are determined by a certified third-party laboratory utilising accepted ASTM, NFRC and WES standards and procedures. Measurements may vary based on window type and method of installation. ^ Savings are based on the installation of fully recessed, reveal-mounted Duette Architella Opaque Shades in an average home in Sydney, compared with the House Energy Rating standard of Holland Blinds from AccuRate, in that home. These calculations have been modelled by an independent third party. Savings will vary based on the window type and installation. 7|Page

CONFIGURATION DAY/NIGHT OVERVIEW The Day/Night Design option provides an all-in-one finish without a visible moving rail, for a seamless integrated look. The Signature Day/Night design integrates the rail into the fabric cell, to allow for the two- separate fabric opacities to be teamed into one seamless fabric panel. The Day/Night middle rail allows for the shade to be easily adjusted on-site if required. DAY/NIGHT - ORDERING INFO Day/Night is available with Duette Ultraglide, Literise & PowerView Shades. • Day/Night can only be fabricated with the Sheer fabric on top and either the translucent or blockout opacity on the bottom. • Due to the specialized fabrication process of Day/Night Shades, this will be a fully imported product from the USA which incurs slightly longer lead times. • Not available in the 10mm fabric range. • Not available with standard cord lock hardware. 11 | P a g e
TOP DOWN/BOTTOM UP OVERVIEW The Top Down/Bottom Up design incorporates one fabric with the ability to manipulate light from the top and from the bottom while retaining a high level of privacy. Top Down/Bottom Up is available across a range of fabric options allowing for either Blockout, Translucent or Sheer fabric options. The Signature Top Down/Bottom Up design introduces a light seal to minimise light from the top. This feature ensures that the top rail seals itself with the headrail with a new lip at the back of the product for assistance. Duette Top Down/Bottom Up Shades are perfect for areas where you want to have more natural light into the room while allowing a high level of privacy. TOP DOWN/BOTTOM UP - ORDERING INFO Top Down, Bottom Up is available with Duette Ultraglide, Literise, Easyrise, PowerView & Standard Cord Lock in both 10mm & 20mm options. 12 | P a g e

ULTRAGLIDE The ultimate in convenient operation, the Ultraglide Operating System features a click and walk away system using a retractable wand mechanism to raise and lower shades. In an effort to move towards a seamless, cord-free product offering, the existing Ultraglide operating cord has been replaced with a retractable wand. This wand not only provides a sleek, clean finish, but also brings added strength, flexibility and enhanced child safety when operating the Duette Ultraglide System. The wand is soft-touch coated for a premium feel, while the teardrop-shaped tassel provides the perfect ergonomic operation. Wands are colour co-ordinated with the hardware and can be ordered in the following standard sizes - 305mm, 457mm, 610mm, 762mm, 915mm, 1066mm, 1219mm, 1600mm and 2134mm. Ultraglide operations with Bottom Up, Top Down or Top Down/Bottom Up configurations, are manufactured in NZ. Day/Night configurations are manufactured in the USA. Available with Bottom Up, Top Down, Top-Down/Bottom-Up and, Day/Night configuration options. 22 | P a g e
ULTRAGLIDE WAND MEASURING GUIDELINES Control wands for Ultraglide Shades work best when ordered at a length approximately equal to the distance from the headrail to the shoulder of the user. The Ultraglide wand tassel should fall between the shoulder heights of the consumers in the home, as shown in the illustration below. 23 | P a g e
ULTRAGLIDE OPERATION For smooth operation, keep the wand close to the fabric when raising and lowering the shade. TO LOWER THE SHADE • Pull the wand toward the centre of the shade at about a 45° angle. The locking mechanism at the top of the wand releases with a “click.” The shade lowers as you allow the wand to return to the vertical position. IMPORTANT: The wand must be pulled in close to the front of the shade. Do not pull the wand out away from the shade. • To stop the shade while lowering, move the wand back toward the vertical position and give a slight downward pull to engage the locking mechanism. • If the shade hits an obstruction as it is lowered it will stop, which may cause the cords in each cord rout to become misaligned. This may cause the shade to be angled or tilted when fully raised. If this occurs, do the following: ➤ Raise the shade slightly. ➤ Lower the shade completely to the sill. In some cases, pull gently on the bottom rail to get it to drop completely. IMPORTANT: If the shade is tilted when fully raised, do not pull harder on the wand. It does not correct the tilt and may make it worse. TO RAISE THE SHADE • Pull the wand straight down or slightly toward the outside. ➤ With each stroke the shade partially raises. ➤ Allow the wand to retract after each downward stroke. ➤ Use multiple strokes until the shade reaches the desired position. DAY/NIGHT & TOP DOWN/BOTTOM UP SHADES • To rate Day/Night and Top- Down/Bottom-Up shades, the right wand operates the middle rail and the left wand operates the bottom rail (unless reverse controls were specified on the order). IMPORTANT: You must first lower the bottom rail before lowering the middle rail. Likewise, you must first raise the middle rail before raising the bottom rail. This wand operates This wand operates the middle rail the bottom rail Middle Rail Bottom Rail 24 | P a g e
EASYRISE OPERATE THE SHADE Pulling down on the rear of this continuous loop lowers your shade. Pulling on the front of the loop raises it. OPERATING TOP DOWN/BOTTOM UP SHADES Top Down/Bottom Up Shade have two operating cords. Standard Bottom Up Shades have one operating cord. • Pull down slowly on the rear cord of the loop to lower the shade. • Pull down slowly in the front cord of the cord loop to raise the shade. IMPORTANT: If the cord tensioner moves up the cord, you have not secured it to the wall or window frame. You must do so for the shade to operate properly. • To operate Top-Down/ Bottom-Up Shades, the right cord operates the middle rail and the left cord operates the bottom rail. • You must first lower the bottom rail before lowering the middle rail. Likewise, you must first raise the middle rail before raising the bottom rail. POWER SUPPLY OPTIONS Each PowerView shade is available with either battery pack, DC power supply or Li-ion External Battery Pack. BATTERY WAND • Replaceable batteries containing between 8 - 12 batteries per wand (depending on width, size and configuration) • For all Duette configurations, battery wand has two placing locations; o High Mount - Mounted behind the headrail or o Low Mount - Mounted below the headrail behind the fabric stack • Skylift Shades less than 787mm in width, require a pre- attached satellite battery pack (mounts behind the bottom rail or outside opening). • Skylif Shades greater than 787mm wide, will have the battery packs concealed in the bottom rail. • For Skylift shade less than 787mm wide, specify extension cable length: 380mm, 1.2M, 3M or 6M • Average of 9 – 12 months of battery life before batteries will require replacement (dependant on factors such as width, drop, how often shade is operated etc) • Energizer Ultimate Alkaline AA batteries should be used when replacing the batteries in the PowerView battery pack. Alkaline batteries are the optimum and recommended choice for all Duette shades. DC POWER PACK DC Power allows the shade to be connected directly to power by means of a 3-pin-plug. It is not recommended that the cable is cut and connected to direct current as this converts 230 volts (standard home current) to 18 volts (required voltage for all Duette Shades). If requiring hardwiring, please refer to the www.mynzws.co.nz portal. LI-ION EXTERNAL BATTERY PACK The battery pack gives you the option to charge in-place or at a position of your choice. The Li-ion battery chemistry gives a prolonged operating life of between 9 - 12 months; meaning recharge is only required once a year. We recommend that you only use the charger supplied with the battery pack to recharge the battery pack and typical charging time from empty to fully charged is 3-4 hrs. The brackets supplied with each battery pack are designed to be installed on a wall and as such, are not designed to be installed on the back of the headrail of the shade. Each Li-ion battery pack is supplied with the battery, charger and 2 x wall brackets. NOTE: Available with all Duette Shades with the exception of Skylift operation 27 | P a g e
