Das Sprachenzentrum Information on the courses The intensive courses start on Monday, 27 September 2021 at 4 p.m. sharp. Place: language centre / ZOOM Time in the afternoon: 3:30-7:00pm 4:00-7:30pm + 30 minutes break 8 groups = 8 levels language lessons & workshops Group lists with your initials, birthdate and c-test result will be sent to you asap. Das Sprachenzentrum Rules for teaching and examination activities - updated: 9 Sep. 2021 Only those students who have immunity to Covid-19 (through vaccination or convalescence) or can present a negative test result obtained from a certified testing centre test within the last 48 hours (3G rule) are allowed to attend in- person courses or participate in in-person examinations. During the lecture-free period, instructors and examiners are required to confirm the participants’ immunisation status and test results at the beginning of the respective course or examination. Personal contact data will no longer be collected in accordance with the Coronavirus Protection Regulations (CoronaSchVO). SPZ / WWU 2021
Das Sprachenzentrum Rules for teaching and examination activities - updated: 9 Sep. 2021 As a rule, a minimum distance of 1.5 m from others must be maintained at all times. However, according to the CoronaSchVO hygiene and infection protection regulations, the minimum distance rule does not apply to those seated in classrooms and during examinations because all participants should be vaccinated or tested. Face masks need not be worn in courses and examinations, as all participants should be vaccinated or tested. All staff and students are required to wear face masks inside WWU buildings. Das Sprachenzentrum 1st day of class • Make sure you have your ID (e.g. passport) at hand as well as the Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in German, English, French, Italian or Spanish in digital or paper form (e.g. EU Digital COVID certificate; WHO vaccination booklet). Note that a photo of a proof in paper form is not sufficient. Proof of a negative test result (e.g. PCR, PoC- PCR) not older than 48 hours. Please check your group‘s entrance and be there 30 minutes before the classes start. Those without one of the 3-G proofs will be sent home without further discussion. SPZ / WWU 2021

Das Sprachenzentrum Information about the courses/groups • There will be 8 groups on 8 different levels (A1.1 – C2.1) • Both groups 1 and 2 will be working with a textbook. • All other groups will be provided with materials by their teachers. • Groups 1 and 2 are the beginners‘ classes – English will be used. • The teachers will speak (slow to normal) German in all other groups – YAY!!! • There will be two teachers in a few groups. Das Sprachenzentrum Please consider… Netiquette for online classes: • You are not allowed to participate using your smartphone! • Your camera should remain active throughout the entire 90 minutes unless your teacher tells you differently. • Please eat something before you start the course or in the break. (Drinking is allowed at all times.) • You can wear joggers – make sure you were them ;-) • Please find yourself a serious place to study – do not use the bed. SPZ / WWU 2021

Das Sprachenzentrum What happens after the German Intensive Courses? • Everyone has to take the official C-test online (main exception: courses for absolute beginners and Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Polish and Turkish language courses). • Before you take the C-test you have to register on our website with your WWU-email address and password welcome letter international office! • The instructions can be found in a PDF document on our homepage. • You can choose any course you would like to attend and apply for a place.
