Summer Fun In ‘21! DAY CAMP Summer Camp is a vital childhood experience and more important than ever. Turn off the electronics because through play, kids learn to solve problems, make new friends, and discover the world around them which helps them grow. With a variety of camp electives ranging from Sports to STEM, energetic staff and daily special events the Hamilton Area YMCA is the ideal environment for campers to make new friends, create lifelong memories and experience Summer Fun in ’21! OUR GOALS: • Encourage each child to make friends and have fun in a safe nurturing environment • Broaden each child’s horizons with new and different experiences ranging from the creative to the physical throughout a variety of different camp options • That each child learn to push beyond their limitations and learn what they are truly capable of and in so doing, become inspired to reach further • To encourage creativity and imagination in each child • Build strength of character, courage, determination, and focus by encouraging sound decision making skills • Teach children that their relationships and the larger community benefit from their investment • Encourage children to emulate positive role models in camp staff • Encourage willingness to accept guidance when challenged with a decision, giving each child the freedom to feel confident in their choices • Enhance respect for self, others and the natural world around them 2
Camp Dates June 21 - September 3 Registration going on now! 2021 Camp Rates 5 day per week options: Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4: 00 p.m. $380 per week Pre Camp 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. - $30 Post Camp 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - $40 3 day per week option (you pick the days!): 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. pre and post camp included $305 per week New for 2021 Online Registration Register, make payments, complete medical information, sign waivers, submit shot records all online. No Membership Required Simply pay a $25 registration fee New phone app The CampSpace app allows parents to receive camp communication, check their child’s daily schedule, update the pick up list, electronically sign in and out their child Bank draft Leave a deposit at registration to reserve a spot, lock in a discounted rate and spread the final payments over the next couple of months. *Please note that photos of campers were taken pre-pandemic. .
TYPICAL CAMP DAY Camp day schedule and activities will vary 9:00 a.m. Morning Meeting 9:20 a.m. Activity Period 1 COVID-19 Precautions (Specialist, Kickball, Capture the Flag, Gaga) • Contactless registration 10:30 a.m. Break/Snack Time • Drive though drop off and pick up 11:00 a.m. Morning Swim • Daily Temperature checks and screening question 12:00 p.m. Lunch • Increased cleaning and sanitizing 12:45 p.m. Activity Period 2 • Hand washing and sanitizing stations (Specialist, Art, Science, Camp Songs, Camp Games) throughout the facility 1:30 p.m. Afternoon Swim • Staff training on COVID-19 including proper 2:15 p.m. Activity Period 3 sanitation and cleaning • Face coverings may be required based on local (Specialist, Water Relays, Sprinkler Time, Water Tag) and state guidelines 3:25 p.m. Daily Closing • Reduced number of groups during each swim 3:45 p.m. Arrive at Departure Locations time • We are prepared to follow current local and state safety guidelines Theme Weeks Each week of camp is special so we have a theme for each one. Val Budd Melanie Mayerson Jess Fremgen Christine Ponella Camp Manager Camp Activities Coordinator Camp SKOR Coordinator Camp Integrated Coordinator Caring & Well Trained Staff Each of our staff undergoes a series of interviews, reference checks and a complete background/criminal history check. Our coordinators are college graduates who are working professionals in the fields of education and child development with over 36 years of camp experience and 17 years of teaching experience. Our senior staff are at least 18 years of age with prior experience working with children. Many of our staff have been former campers and have gone through our counselor in training program. All staff participate in over 25 hours pre camp training. Our senior counselors and leadership staff are all certified in First Aid and CPR. We have a camp nurse on site each day. Everyone belongs at the Y. We believe in serving the needs of all members of our community including those who may be unable to pay the full cost of membership or programs. Financial assistance is based on a number of factors including total household income and number of dependents in the household. Financial assistance applications are required and are due by May 1. The process is confidential. We encourage and support the participation of individuals with disabilities in all programs and Parents Trust Us services.
