Welcome to people of every age and size, color and culture, every sexual orientation and gender identity, socio-economic status, ability and challenge. Welcome to believers and questioners, and to questioning believers. This is a place where you are welcome to celebrate and sorrow, rejoice and recover. This is a place where lives are made new. Welcome on this day!
PRELUDE WELCOME & ANNOUNCEMENTS TEMPLE TALK Jeff Laurel GODSIGHTINGS * GATHERING HYMN God, Whose Giving Knows No Ending (tune Joyful, Joyful) ELW 678 * CONFESSION & FORGIVENESS Blessed be the holy Trinity, ☩ one God, whose teaching is life, whose presence is sure, and whose love is endless. Amen. Let us confess our sins to the one who welcomes us with an open heart. Silence is kept for reflection. God our comforter: like lost sheep, we have gone astray. We gaze upon abundance and see scarcity. We turn our faces away from injustice and oppression. We exploit the earth with our apathy and greed. Free us from our sin, gracious God. Listen when we call out to you for help. Lead us by your love to love our neighbors as ourselves. Amen. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. By the gift of grace in ☩ Christ Jesus, God makes you righteous. Receive with glad hearts the forgiveness of all your sins. Amen. * PRAYER OF THE DAY P: Let us pray. C: Lord God, source of every blessing, you showed forth your glory and led many to faith by the works of your Son, who brought gladness and salvation to his people. Transform us by the Spirit of his love, that we may find our life together in him, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen. BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING Karen Christofferson, Kris Geschwill ANTHEM “Where Your Treasure Is”- Randy Kraft, guitar; Judy Tender, flute Marty Haugen
FIRST READING Psalm 36:5-10 5 Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, and your faithfulness to the clouds. 6Your righteousness is like the strong mountains, your justice like the great deep; you save humankind and animals, O Lord. 7How priceless is your love, O God! All people take refuge under the shadow of your wings. 8They feast upon the abundance of your house; you give them drink from the river of your delights. 9For with you is the well of life, and in your light we see light. 10Continue your loving kindness to those who know you, and your favor to those who are true of heart. Word of God, word of life. Thanks be to God! * GOSPEL John 2:1-11 from the Message. The holy Gospel according to John. Glory to you, O Lord. 1-3 Three days later there was a wedding in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there. Jesus and his disciples were guests also. When they started running low on wine at the wedding banquet, Jesus’ mother told him, “They’re just about out of wine.” 4 Jesus said, “Is that any of our business, Mother—yours or mine? This isn’t my time. Don’t push me.” 5 She went ahead anyway, telling the servants, “Whatever he tells you, do it.” 6-7 Six stoneware water pots were there, used by the Jews for ritual washings. Each held twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus ordered the servants, “Fill the pots with water.” And they filled them to the brim. 8 “Now fill your pitchers and take them to the host,” Jesus said, and they did. 9-10 When the host tasted the water that had become wine (he didn’t know what had just happened but the servants, of course, knew), he called out to the bride- groom, “Everybody I know begins with their finest wines and after the guests have had their fill brings in the cheap stuff. But you’ve saved the best till now!” 11 This act in Cana of Galilee was the first sign Jesus gave, the first glimpse of his glory. And his disciples believed in him. P: The Gospel of the Lord. C: Praise to you, O Christ. SERMON Pastor Kristin Oltmann HYMN OF THE DAY You Satisfy the Hungry Heart ELW 484 Choir sings first Refrain and verses 2 - 5, Congregation sings all remaining Refrains * APOSTLES’ CREED I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. * PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION OFFERING OF GIFTS “It Is Well” - Tamela & Robin Hendry * OFFERTORY PRAYER/PRAYER OF CONSECRATION * WORDS OF INSTITUTION * THE LORD'S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. HOLY COMMUNION IS SERVED-ALL ARE WELCOME! (If you prefer gluten-free wafers, please let the communion server know.) CONGREGATIONAL UPDATE Dear Crosslake Lutheran Community, As COVID (especially the Delta variant) remains at a high rate of community transmission we recommend masks for all those inside our facility at worship and all functions. This is especially important now that we have more people inside our building, specifically more children. Children under 12 aren't yet eligible for the vaccine. With the Delta variant, people can be carriers of COVID without showing any symptoms. We recognize that there is COVID fatigue and no one wants to wear a mask! But if we can help others feel safe and more comfortable in our church environment so that they can participate rather than staying home, it's an act of Christian hospitality and service to our neighbors in Christ to wear a mask for the time that we are together. Thanks for your participation and patience! ========================================================== Church Office: 218-692-3682 PO Box 248, Crosslake, MN 56442 Church Office E-mail: clc@crosslake.net www.crosslakelutheran.com ========================================================== WORSHIP LEADERS Ministers Everyone Music Ministry Director Patricia Lundeen Pastor Kristin Oltmann A/V John Carlson, Dave Norgren Pastor Kurt Hagestuen Ushers Norm Kroeger, JoAnn Maas Head Ushers Ann & Sam Shirey Greeters Dave & Lory Delgehausen Lector Kitty Daniels Worship Assistant Michael Haar Communion Servers Jeff & Bonnie Benson, Michael Haar and Sue Phillips ============================================================ STAFF: Youth Director Pat Netko Office Manager Brenda LaRock Parish Nurse Gail Smith Bookkeeper Tracy Nelson Maintenance Carl Weber Custodian Jenny Henderson Choir Director Kristi Morsch Volunteer Coordinator Paulette Wilske ============================================================

Refugees are children, women, and men who have been forced to flee the only home they have ever known, desperately hoping to find safety and stability once again. We believe that every human being should be afforded the same protection we would want for our own loved ones. That is why LIRS is dedicated to offering newly arrived refugees a warm welcome and a firm footing, in the hopes that our newest neighbors might find peace and prosperity once again. Our legacy of compassionate service has made a difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of people who have found safety and hope in America’s communities. If you would like to make a financial contribution they have a Neighbors in Need: Afghan Allies Fund with a direct link on their website or you can mail the check to them. Not a computer person?
