Our Mission: Growing Faith that Impacts the World for Christ Our Core Values highlight how we live out that mission as a community of Christ followers. St. Philip’s Core Values FAITH We believe in God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We endeavor to glorify Him in all we do and grow His Kingdom through our actions, words, and deeds. DISCIPLESHIP We are Christ followers who strive to live lives of Christ-like example. We encourage the potential in others, and challenge, equip and empower them to further the Kingdom of God. COMMUNITY We are a source of belonging that nurtures and grows relationships, strengthens bonds and supports one another as a church family. We seek to build partnerships with, and be a light for, individuals and organizations in our city and the world. COMPASSION We show respect, understanding and genuine concern for the needs of all we encounter and demonstrate this through our actions to provide help and hope in Christ. INTEGRITY We act with respect, honesty, and transparency and do not waver in staying true to our word, just as God is to His. IMPACT We intentionally create and seek out opportunities to eternally transform individuals and communities for the glory of God. This booklet contains a multitude of ways you can dive deeper into life at St. Philip’s and embrace our mission as your own. 1

We were created to live in relationship with others – only then can we experience the full life God intends for us. That’s why at St. Philip’s, we believe our faith is grown in Small Groups. Small Groups have one, simple purpose: to bring people together. Sharing life through community is part of our design, but getting connected isn’t always easy. That’s why Small Groups exist — to make these life-changing relationships relevant and accessible. At St. Philip’s we offer a variety of Small Groups: • Church Ministry Groups - groups connected to an official church ministry. These may be led by a combination of lay leaders and staff ministry leaders. (Boomers, Mom Connect, Daughters of the King, etc.) • Community Groups - groups formed by parishioners for the purpose of personal group Bible studies, book clubs, hobbies, social groups. (Men’s Saturday Morning Group, Parents of Children Who Do Not Drive, etc.) No matter where you are in life, there’s a group for you. ST. PHILIP’S PRESCHOOL St. Philip’s Preschool provides a child-centered, joyful learning environment to foster academic excellence, grow faith that impacts the world for Christ, and prepare children for their Kindergarten experience. Our team of teachers offer over 100 years of combined preschool education experience to incorporate an equal emphasis on both academic and spiritual growth while nurturing the whole child – emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually. PROGRAMS: We offer two-, three-, and five-day classes for children age 2 years through 4 years as well as a five-day Transitional Kindergarten class. Classroom hours are 8:30 am – 2:30 pm daily. SPECIAL PROGRAMMING: These special programs enhance children’s spiritual, physical, and academic experience. • Chapel Time encourages children in their faith through an amazing daily experience in our church Sanctuary that’s fun and focuses on the love God has for us all. Lessons taught in chapel are also reinforced in the classroom. • Investigation Station is our theme-based, hands on, experiential classroom. Each month this room is packed with exciting activities and projects for the students to engage in to help them learn more about the month’s theme. It’s like going on a little field trip every month! • Music and Movement engages the children in singing, playing musical instruments, dancing and movement activities as well as listening to different types of music. • Physical Education promotes healthy minds and healthy bodies. Children will learn to practice yoga, understand the benefits of healthy eating, and learn the basics rules of soccer, basketball, baseball and other sports. BEFORE SCHOOL (7:30 - 8:15 am) and AFTER SCHOOL (2:30 - 5:30 pm) PROGRAMS are also available. Want to know more? CHILDREN & FAMILY We’re dedicated to helping children and their families discover God’s amazing love, deepen their faith and share His love with others by providing quality Christian educational programs and opportunities for fellowship and service. CFM CHILDREN’S CHAPEL Sundays, during 9 & 11:15 am services Our goal is to have our children “step up” with each level, deepening their knowledge of Christ and ultimately preparing them to attend a full service in the Sanctuary. We follow the liturgical calendar, which means that everyone will be learning the same scriptures, revised to suit their age group. We use a Bible story-based curriculum that is presented in a format to fit each age group’s developmental stage. Nursery Chapel (6wks-3yrs) - Children will be brought together for the Bible story and a prayer. Preschool Chapel (3-5yrs) - Lessons include a story time (Old and New Testament stories), arts and crafts, prayer time, praise and worship time and games. All games and crafts are centered around the lesson of the day with talking points that will be discussed. Elementary School Chapel (Kinder-3rd grade) - This is a step up from the preschool chapel (no games or crafts) getting them ready to attend a full worship service. They will do what they are missing in service, such as Prayers of the People and reciting the Children’s Creed. Children are expected to worship with you at the beginning of service and for the Great Thanksgiving to prepare them to receive Communion. During worship, rooms are divided by age as follows, but we reserve the right to modify this based on the number of children and caregivers present. Although children under the age of 36 months are together in Rm 100, young babies and toddlers are separated by a room divider. Age Location 6 weeks-3 years Rm 100, Nursery 3-5 years old Rm 101, Preschool Chapel Kinder-3rd grade Begin in service with parents, ushered to chapel and then brought back before communion. Note: 4th & 5th graders do not attend Children’s Chapel; they are encouraged to worship with their families. If they would like to help with Chapel by serving on our Praise Team (training and scheduling are required) contact jillscott@stphilipsfrisco.org for more details. 8

YOUTH YOUTH CONFIRMATION Our Confirmation process is a little different than your typical class. Since Confirmation is an individual’s mature and public affirmation of faith and commitment to the responsibilities of Baptism, we strive to make it more organic and available when each youth is ready. Some youth may be ready in 6th grade but many will be better prepared toward the end of Middle School or into their High School years. Therefore, all youth (6th-12th grade) are welcome to participate. Confirmation entails making a commitment to live out your faith and in the preparation process, youth will get to experience what that looks like in real life before they make the commitment of Confirmation. Please email youth@stphilipsfrisco.org if you have question about Confirmation for your youth. YOUTH MISSION Every Summer in July Each summer our Middle & High School students serve together on a week-long mission. This is far more than “just a trip”. Our team starts meeting months ahead of time to prepare our hearts and minds in addition to making sure all logistics are covered. Each team member serves in a leadership role and plays an important part in our mission experience. YOUTH SPECIAL EVENTS Make sure you’re registered for our Youth Newsletter to not miss out on special events throughout the year, including movie and/or game nights, pool parties, sport events and outreach service opportunities.
