DUAL ENROLLMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Some dual enrollment courses earn 1 full high school credit upon completion. EHCS graduates are ex-
pected to pass eight (8) semesters of Bible, English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Students must
have a 3.0 unweighted GPA, score an acceptable grade on a College Placement
Test (CPT), and meet departmental qualifications to participate in dual enroll-
ment. In the event that a student makes below a “C” the first semester, he/she
may be required to take classes at EHCS for the second semester.

Below are frequently asked questions about the opportunity for students to earn
college credits while enjoying the high school experience at East Hill Christian
School.

Q: Who can participate in Dual Enrollment Classes?
A: Juniors and Seniors at EHCS who are eligible can participate.

Q: What are the Eligibility Requirements for Dual Enrollment Classes?
A: Students must have a 3.0 minimum unweighted GPA to qualify, and must pass either a
college placement test (PERT) or have taken the ACT / SAT and earned a qualifying
                score.

Q: Where can I take the PERT (Postsecondary Education Readiness Test)?
A: Students can take the PERT on the campus of Pensacola State College. Students will
need to pick up forms from the EHCS Guidance Counselor (EHCS Referral Form) and
from the Headmaster (Fee Waiver Form). The test fee is waived the first time the test
is taken ($10). The PERT test is comprised of the following three sections: Reading,
Writing, & Mathematics. Each PERT section has 30 questions and the PERT test is
not timed. It is estimated that each section will take approximately 45 minutes to com-
plete (2 1/4 hrs). PERT Study Guide: http://fldoe.org/core/fileparse.php/5592/

DUAL ENROLLMENT OPPORTUNITIES (continued)
Q: How do we register for a Dual Enrollment course?
A: The EHCS Guidance Counselor will assist in the initial admission process and the reg-
istration process. The admission process will generate a PSC Student ID #, an email
address, etc. The Registration process will determine course title, professor, and day/
            time.
Q: How many Dual Enrollment courses can be taken?
A: Juniors may take 1 Dual Enrollment course off campus per semester. Seniors may
take 3 Dual Enrollment courses off campus per semester. Both Juniors and Seniors
may take all available DE courses on EHCS campus and may take PSC online cours-
es as their schedule allows and if it does not conflict with required core classes on
            EHCS campus.

Q: When may Dual Enrollment courses be taken on PSC campus?
A: On Mondays through Fridays, the morning hours from 8:00am until 9:50am are blocked
off for PSC classes. Students are required to be back on EHCS campus by 9:50am.

Q: What should I do with my final grades?
A: Go online through PSC and print a transcript showing the courses for the semester and
the final grades. Give a copy to the Guidance Counselor and it will be entered on your
EHCS transcript. PSC grades will not appear on EHCS report cards.

Q: How do I keep my Dual Enrollment eligibility?
Students must have and maintain a minimum of a 3.0 unweighted GPA at EHCS
Students must not drop below a 2.5 GPA at PSC
Students receiving a D+, D, or F will lose eligibility in the program for the next semester,
             summer terms not included.

Q: Can I withdraw from a Dual Enrollment Course?
A: Students may withdraw from a class during drop/add week which is the first week of
classes, without penalty and with a full refund. Any class withdrawn after this point will
appear as a W on the transcript and must be paid for. After 70% of the class is com-
plete, withdrawing from the class will result in a F. Students having a grade of W in
excess of one-half of the hours attempted within the semester will lose their Dual En-
rollment program eligibility for courses on the college campus for the next semester.

“The Mission of EHCS is to educate students
