    continuing and developing relationship of Douglas

    their youth, caused damage to Ray’s house because
    of a misguided football! John as a solicitor reminded
    Ray that such acts were of minor vandalism were
    now statute barred and as such he felt safe in

Rachel Abraham is the grand niece of the subject,
and being questioned about her name (not Cork           6TH APRIL “Mother Jones”

SEPTEMBER: Outing to Inchigheela

        which the best views of Venice/San Marco can
        be enjoyed, and no queues!! The church has
        Titans and Tintorettos! It is best to stay in Venice
        itself, rather than the lido, and reasonable
        accommodation can be found in the former
        convents, but many have a 10.30pm curfew!.
        Venice, despite having a marvellous food
        market, is not renowned for its cuisine. Good
        restaurants in Venice are expensive, but good
        piazzas and spag bol are available and panini
        (sandwiches). Avoid around San Marco, very
        expensive! Any member wanting more info, I will
        be delighted to help in any way I can.

                                                         Institute Council meetings in London, and it was
                                                         a privilege a member of the Chartered Council as
                                                         President IICork, and to see both in real action,
                                                         particularly Douglas when it was proposed that
                                                         a merger take place with the “Building Societies
                                                         Institute” in the UK. Douglas leading the “charge”
                                                         against the merger, outlining the impact on our
                                                         “Chartered Status”, and “Privy Council” rules
                                                         being breached and the consequences!

                                                         It was inevitable on his retirement from Hibernian,
