Single-Family Variety # Feedback Pflugerville should promote single family homes, and multi-generational homes to encourage 1 community. I think an emphasis should be place on single family homes as Austin and Round Rock (somewhat) are 2 too expensive for middle income families. Over the last 10 years, the builders seem to have built a variety of SF houses, in terms of size and lot 3 size. The city zoning/ordinances should allow for a wide range, but encourage smaller lots as a way of reducing outdoor water consumption. I live in a subdivision having 10 houses per acre. I'd like to have fewer neighbors and more control over 4 whether housing can be turned into rental property. 5 I would like to see more subdivisions offering larger lots (similar to Morningside Circle area of Hutto). 6 Build some high-end expensive homes to attract wealth into Pflugerville There's a need for this .... Some people want to move their parents closer into a smaller home. There's 7 nothing smaller then 3 bed 2 bath unless you rent an apartment or go to senior complex Plenty of homes of all ranges. If we want our community to be a place to live, let’s ensure we aren’t 8 just building shelter homes for people but true homes where people want to raise their families and children. Forever homes not short-term homes like apartments and duplexes. 9 Lots of homes already. But bigger lots should be allowed/required as houses are two close together. Bigger lots would be nicer so you don't have homes crowded into these developments like sardines. 10 Cheap lots = cheap housing = lower socioeconomic demographic, run-down neighborhoods and higher violent crime rate. I like single family because it decrease the congestion on how many cars are on the road and reduces 11 the frustration when people are in the cars at a standstill. Traffic should keep flowing even if it's slow, it should not be a complete stop. Need larger lots available. There are a lot of small lots, but not a lot of larger lots available for larger 12 homes. 13 I agree, more single family dwellings. In addition, there are too many apartment buildings being built. 7
Single-Family Variety # Feedback Variable lot sizes are great to have. Some people want no yard to manage where others would like a nice big garden and chickens. It would be nice to put a limit on the restrictions that HOAs can set, or to 14 prevent them from forming in the first place. It seems developers put these in place but that they are not in demand by most home owners. Housing Type Variety # Feedback 1 Not interested STOP the building of massive apartment complexes. Encourage the building of single family homes, 2 duplexes and rental homes. STOP the apartments that being in crime, drugs, property crimes violent assaults and shootings. Having variety should drive diversity and different preferences. While overcrowding can lead to friction, 3 can we mitigate that by requiring inclusion of amenities for leisure, outdoor activities, and community rooms? No! We have too many apartment and lower income in a very focused area. Please re-think how and 4 where the next housing development are planned. 5 No apartments or condos or duplexes, it brings property values down. Please do not build any more apartment!!!. The crime rate is going to continue climbing higher. It sounds politically incorrect but it's true. Stop building multi-unit housing. Anybody who has paid 6 attention to the last few shootings must have picked up on the fact that they were on/near apartment complexes. This should be cautioned. Yes, walk up townhomes would be great along certain areas or as a transition to single family neighborhoods. Design is really important to me. When not thoughtfully designed or 7 walkable can create problem areas that are not desired. Example of duplexes that have not worn well are in the Windermere area. Walkable, but bad design. Townhomes facing Heatherwilde are good, but the area behind is nothing but a complex appearance covered with driveways and should be avoided. We need to remember the "hidden middle" of Single, mid career professionals that do not have children 8 and/or are disabled. I would like to see more single story homes being built. There are a lot of seniors that are empty nesters 9 or downsizing. We don't want to stay in senior housing complexes. I personally would love to live in a single story home. 8
Housing Affordability # Feedback 1 Should not be too expensive, but enough for working parents to afford. Honestly, I'm not sure how you plan for or legislate affordability. It is "dearly to be wished ", of course. At 2 the same time we specify controlling prices, we don't want poor construction and materials. 3 Affordable housing is a must! Pflugerville is already a cheaper alternative in comparison to Round Rock and Austin. This should not be 4 a priority here 5 Please do not bring in lower income families that need government assistance. If you don't include all types of people, Pf will eventually become homogeneous and lose it's diversity. 6 I've seen this in other cities I've lived in. 7 Pflugerville is already affordable. We don't need any further low income areas please. 8 We cannot let Austin's overflow raise the prices of homes in Pflugerville. The number of mega apartment complexes that have been built in the last 5 years in Pflugerville is ridiculous and out of control. Longtime residents are footing the bill for infrastructure inadequacies as 9 a result of this irresponsible growth, such as the water hike. Developers are more important than the residents of this town and its really obvious and shameful. We are all taking note. Aging-in-Place # Feedback 1 Elderly in Pflugerville should be honored and given great places to retire and relax. 2 Pflugerville doesn't have a lot of assisted living facilities Nervous that I cannot stay in house as I age. If it were not for my VA disability lowering my taxes I would 3 have had to move already I agree with this. I'm on the edge of retirement and I've been in my home for over 20 years, I don't want 4 to have to sell it and "try" to find somewhere else where I can afford to live on a limited income. Since this is my demographic, I can say with authority that Pflugerville is right on the brink of being too expensive for us. We are here to be near family and worry about getting "priced out". In times when 5 families need help and are scattered geographically, the generations can provide community to one another and enrich lives. Senior housing is supported, but don't need the issues like what Georgetown has with frozen taxes and 6 increase in required services to support them. 7 As mentioned above. Homes that do not have a lot of stairs. I own my home and by the time I hit retirement I will not be able to afford the property taxes and 8 will have to move. This is just not right we work hard all our lives and end up being priced out due to property taxes. We should be able to stay in our homes after retirement but property taxes are so makes it next to 9 impossible. 9

Perhaps a joint venture with Round Rock. Mid-pandemic, it is difficult to know how to address this. I don't know how you plan for our "new 3 normal" since it's still evolving. Suffice it to say that I have appreciated local events and hope we can, at least, keep having them in roughly a similar number and variety as we did before covid. The ones we already have are very fun and brings a good crowd size. If we have more events, hopefully 4 we keep people from traveling so far and spend money in our community when they attend events. They also are exposed to small businesses that we didn’t know about and support them. We need a 4th of July parade, diversity celebration events for all cultures, kite festival at the lake, 5 Halloween haunted house or events. 6 I think we have plenty! Dpfest in October would be excellent though! 7 We need more diverse events. 8 Consider all events for every age. We are happy with having Deutschen Pfest and the Pfarmers Market. We would love to see our Pfarmers' 9 market be a more robust one, though. There are usually very few vegetable vendors. Put this money into developing downtown so that the average resident has a quality of life boost on a 10 daily basis. These events ring hollow and area waste of funds. 11
Dining & Experiences # Feedback 1 Need local restaurants, not corporate fast food chains 2 Need a good sports bar We do have many options. But I would like to see more ethnic dining options, vegan dining options, and 3 health conscience dining available. 4 Proper dine in restaurants should be encouraged and attracted rather than fast food chains 5 We have a lot of choices here. It’s simply a matter of getting more folks to go. (COVID aside.) Hello, GERMAN restaurants? Individual Mom & Pop, culinary excellence, multi-cultural restaurants (Taste of Ethiopia), not more fast food chains. GERMAN BREWERY? GastroPub? Why can't Pflugerville 6 encourage these types of businesses like Nashville does to musicians? Give them a tax incentive? Utility cost break? Something to encourage a development program for quality of life? Eating out a lot is a fact of life for many, but allowing the marketplace to drive itself is realistic. Personally, the "experiences" are most important: in addition to parks, we need kid- and family-places. 7 Museums, art installations, and other play and learning venues would to keep this a community supporting families. But not just fast food or chain restaurants. I'd love to see more Pflugerville restaurants from our 8 residents. 9 Focus on higher end dining. We have plenty of fast food and family dining. 10 I would like to see fewer chains (Texas chains are ok). Would love to have more luxury restaurants/bistro chains like Grand Lux Cafe/Cheesecake Factory. 11 Stop building fast food chains 12 We have an over abundance of fast food options. We pack healthier options and sit down restaurants. I follow Pflugerville Pfoodies on Facebook and most restaurant recommendations are not in Pflugerville. 13 I would love to see more unique and mom/pop restaurants in town. Dining options need to focus on healthier, independently owned options and more offered north of 14 Kelly. 15 More local and less chain, unique places not cookie cutter Dining needs to have more variety. We need to attract some of the great Austin options to want to open 16 additional locations in Pflugerville instead of them all going to cedar park area. 17 No chain restaurants 18 There is a severe lack of dining options around lake Pflugerville and Blackhawk. 19 More dining options. More non chain restaurants and fine dining experiences. 20 We need more HEALTHY grocery stores like sprouts and Trader Joe’s 21 Stop adding fast food and start adding better sit down restaurants like Chuy’s, Jack Allen’s etc. 22 More restaurants, less nail salons. 23 We need more sit down family restaurants, instead of just Chili's. We have enough low end food. But the question really is do we have enough people that will go to 24 higher end and healthier restaurants? We have plenty of chain restaurants. Would love to see more local entertainment and locally owned 25 restaurants. 12
Dining & Experiences # Feedback Less fast food, encourage sit down restaurants with patios, beer garden/brewery/distillery/winery type 26 locations (dripping springs ex.) that have not only their production but also food and family area. 27 Need fine dining!!! Need shopping/eating destination experience!! 28 More local vs chain. We would love to see more local options and walkable options. We have plenty of chain restaurants that 29 we can drive to. Encourage and support local, mom-and-pop cafes and restaurants, not national chains with unhealthy 30 offerings. Brick & Mortar Retail # Feedback 1 Would love a Whole Foods or Central market 2 Small businesses should be the life blood of Pflugerville. Need to add more retail options and hot spots for retail rather than only one town center on limestone 3 drive 4 Not always chain stores. Sidewalks and a parking garage downtown so we can access the stores. Between covid and internet shopping, I doubt this is needed. Enough strip centers! No more Mattress 5 Firms. And limiting signage to conservative norms would be grand. 685 is pretty ugly and other areas are too. 6 Would to have a Trader's Joe in Pflugerville 7 More local boutiques and unique shops would better support the community. 8 We lack grocery stores, and liquor stores 9 No. 10 This is a waste of $. Everything is moving online and retail spaces can’t maintain businesses anymore. I really think we have enough. Stonehill all down 685 and Pecan. We need more places where we can 11 walk around instead of drive to places of one item. I love urban villages since you tend to hang out there a lot longer. 12 Specs or Total Wine, Central Market, Lowes! Locally-owned businesses, such as a hardware store, small department store, small health-food store 13 like Natural Grocers, larger farmer's market. 13
Activities for Teens # Feedback 1 Bowling, sports, community outreach centers, boys and girls club, ROTC. I do not have a frame of reference with which to address this issue, as right now I don't have teenagers 2 around. So I'll not presume to answer 3 YMCA 4 Our kids need more to do than bowling and movies. Yes, to prevent them from getting in trouble and keeping their minds and bodies busy so they don't fall 5 into habits that don't serve them long term like take items from an unlocked car during the wee hours of the night. 6 The teenage kids have nothing to do in this town except for the skate park and that gets old Nightlife # Feedback 1 Not so much bars, but possibly cafes/arcades/stores. Places not revolving around alcohol. Not interested into turning Pflugerville into 6th street, gentleman entertainment, or a bar town. These 2 kinds of businesses should be discouraged. 3 I prefer peace and quiet. 4 Downtown Round Rock would be great inspiration for Pflugerville! 5 Leave the nightlife for Austin, as long as we keep a healthy amount of restaurants and bars 6 There is nothing to do in the evenings outside of family restaurants 7 No clubs or bars, it’s a family community, it needs to stay safe. I think we should have options on people who like to do these things but keep them away from 8 neighborhoods and in places like Stone Hill. Adults need to have fun too and not have to drive far and risk getting into accidents. Definitely! need date night locations and things to do with families and for adults only. Family fun 9 center, performing arts, museums, art galleries, outdoor music venue, active bar scene, etc. are suggestions. 10 Including non-alcoholic nightlife. 11 Need wine bars, dance clubs and family night bars like putt-putt, etc 14

Landscaping should be xeriscaped or 3 non-irrigated. 4 More natural (less manicured and mowed), please. 5 The landscaping should be native and help prevent erosion. More wildflowers would be wonderful. While having beautiful landscape would help the city look nicer, there are other priorities that support 6 the major growth we are seeing that are much more urgent 7 It doesn't look like the existing landscaping is kept up. First step should be to work with what we got. 8 More trees. Green designs keep our city looking healthy and clean. They also are functional in keeping noise 9 down and looking presentable. Also helps with reducing stress, the opposite of "concrete jungles" that increase our stress that we might take out on others inadvertently. 10 I am very impressed with the level of landscaping around the toll road. It looks great! 11 Landscaping should fit the design of the area. Enhanced streetscape is more important to me. 12 Noise abatement as well as public safety barriers (i.e. car vs pedestrian, car vs house/business crashes) The landscaping in these areas is BEAUTIFUL! I wish we had denser plantings like these all around town. 13 This is especially visible at Kelly Ln, perhaps the other stretches of the toll road need more landscaping, though. We need a public street tree program. There area number of streets in Pflugerville with no trees other than what private residents have planted. Planned communities have miles of brick walls, walling HOA 14 communities in and there are residents that live across from these walls, like on settlers Valley. We get to stare at this barren brick wall and its really unattractive. 16
Commercial Signage # Feedback 1 A tasteful amount of billboards is acceptable 2 I've mentioned this elsewhere. The City should write and ordinance that sets a standard for the type of signage a business can put up 3 and the number of signs. I am tired of all of the bandit signs in the city. Get rid of them! Limited but not eliminated. Luckily, GPS and smart phones can make up for much of the value-add that 4 signage provide 5 Agreed The signage should attract business. Money makes the world go round. As long as the signs don't look 6 tacky or not kept up, I think they are great(especially for people who have poor eyesight). 7 No pylon or giant signs please! Community Branding # Feedback Get rid of the PF on the street signs. It looks so stupid. Who ever thought of that idea is dumb. I think 1 you should put your P logo (that is onthe rain barrels) on all street signs 2 I do like the Pflugerville community signage around town but I'm not sure if it is a priority for spending I enjoy the sense of place with Hutto Hippos, for example. "Between a Rock and a Weird Place" is us. Post-snowpocalypse and -pandemic, a light touch of humor and a distinct personality (Pf stickers) 3 are desirable. Pflugerville is home: Comfortable, inclusive, and supportive of human needs. Being intentional in developing ourselves with that vision at heart is laudable. Pflugerville looks like a cheap highway town down most of pecan st and dessau. Pflugerville needs building standards and limitations on auto related businesses. There are way too many auto repair, auto 4 dealers, car washes, auto part etc etc. Why are so many of these businesses allowed to set up within close proximity? This is ruining chances formore diverse/ interesting businesses to move here. 5 This would be awesome to start creating Pflugerville's own atmosphere and feel. 6 We are not Austin. Also don’t want to get lost amongst around Rock and Hutto YES. We are proud of the uniqueness of our cityso we should show it off. I moved here because of the 7 diversity and the emphasis of a green city.Let's keep it up! 17
Land Use # Feedback 1 By having high standard for these corridors, Pflugerville can encourage small businesses. Texans generally eschew regulation but I would very much enjoy a controlled management of future 2 expansion. Pecan Street between I35 and the high school, for example, is hideous. We should do better. Some of the corridors have outgrown their original uses and businesses. Incentives could be provided 3 to help these buildings and businesses to relocate 4 Keep it clean and simple. No crowded billboards. 5 As long as it isn't too stringent and creates red tape. It should not shoot down/kills good ideas Building Scale # Feedback 1 Large scale multistory major employers should be moderate - light. I'm not a fan of multistory businesses because I believe they will place pressure on builders to create multistory residences like apartments. The Amazon fulfillment center just finished construction behind 2 my home. There is still a field between my back fence and Amazon and I would hate having a retail or another warehouse center take up this land. There should be space between homes and these type of buildings. 3 Limiting this kind of development to outlying areas would be great. 4 If that happens, please build better infrastructure to support more traffic. As long as the attraction of major employers doesn’t continue to put the majority of the tax burden on 5 residents. 6 More business means home prices increase and more job opportunities for those nearby It would be nice to have a downtown Pflugerville area with major employers but it shouldn't just be 7 cluttered like every other area in Austin, I think it should be developed in a smarter way. 8 I personally don't like this because places that have this look like they have not unique character. 9 Taller buildings along 45 & 130 Fill the empty warehouses that are already here. No more incentives for warehouses causing retail and 10 restaurant deserts in this town. Mandate public park development for every new mega box building / company. 18

Landscaping # Feedback 1 We should have lighting all along Pflugerville Parkway, the signage and landscaping is fine 2 Native plants for less watering. Definitely green infrastructure to reduce run off and flooding. Landscaping should be xeriscaped or 3 non-irrigated. 4 It makes a huge improvement in areas that can otherwise be sterile and uninviting. 5 More natural (less manicured and mowed), please. 6 More native tree and plants is good. Low water usage plants would be good. A little more important than major corridors, but again, we have other issues that need tax dollars over 7 these green spaces 8 Yes as long as it is not overkill Specifically towards pedestrian/cyclist safety. Natural barriers (with good visibility for drivers) are 9 essential for their safety. 20
Streetscaping # Feedback 1 Limited, should look kept, but less restrictions on HOA's,neighborhoods and Subdivisions. Wide sidewalks. Baffles me why we have not incorporated them. Developers should be required to add 2 them. 3 Perimeter fencing with sound and noise mitigation is needed. 4 Sorento area sidewalks and pedestrian lights Little to no effort should be given to subdivision separators. However, we definitely need improvements 5 to sidewalks. Let HOAs and new business fund streetscaping. Save the city money to increase road availability and 6 access. If it improves the visual appeal of the city as people pass by and it would draw people to stop by the city 7 on the way through. Traveling most of these roads by bicycle or on foot feels dangerous. I regularly see people walking and 8 biking on the roadside on Pecan St. Streets should be inclusive to all common modes of travel. 9 Sidewalk incursions are on the rise. How streetscaping can prevent this is doable, and at a low cost. Uninterrupted bike lanes or multi-use paths should be included everywhere to incentivize safe, non- 10 motor vehicle commuting along all gateway corridors. We need safer streets for all common modes of travel. I frequently see people walking, pushing strollers 11 and biking along these roads, especially Pecan St! Settlers valley needs city trees along the long stretch of white brick wall that runs for almost a mile. Look at Wells Branch communities and you won't see these thoughtless walled in communities with brick 12 wall treeless streets. These miles of brick wall are depressing and remind me why I should have picked somewhere like Cedar Park to live where the city actually invests in its street scrapes. Community Branding # Feedback 1 To better encourage community growth and to have better feel of unity. 2 I like the Pflugerville signs but not sure if it is a spending priority Overhead Utilities # Feedback 1 Not necessary. 2 Unless there is an issue with maintenance then I don't care if they are overhead 3 YES! the infrastructure needs to be secured against weather. Appearance would improve as well. Yes, but not only because of visible clutter but also for reliability during storms like the ones we just 4 went through. It's more costly, but worth it, in my opinion. 5 This is a no-brainer. 6 Anything infrastructure should be the city's number one priority. 21
Overhead Utilities # Feedback Whoever the City Managers and Planning Directors were 5, 10, 15 years ago lacked vision. Overhead 7 wires are an eyesore and make Pflugerville look ugly. Get rid of the wires! 8 Once again, more of a nicety, we should be spending tax dollars are other priorities 9 Not to mention help reduce trees falling on power lines. 10 Our city is too big to have an abundance of overhead wiring in high travel areas. Especially downtown Austin energy does not properly maintain powerlines along Settlers valley near wall greens. There are 30 yr old trees completely Incasing lines. Even after the storm, these trees were barely trimmed and still 11 remain a problem for causing frequent power outages for our house on a near weekly basis. The lines need to go under ground because Austin energy is not going to do their job and never do. A lot of the poles on Hodde lane looks like they are about to fall over- these should also go 12 underground. Building Scale # Feedback 1 Keep Old Town's historic character and don't have >2 story buildings.. The new development on the corner of Heatherwilde and Settlers valley is an absolute atrocity. It's like a prison fort and seems to also be a hazard for the people that live their with how close their living 2 spaces are to a street with frequent wrecks. How this building was ever approved is unbelievable. Go take a look at it if you don't know how much of an eye sore it is. It was advertised as being a live work community to the local residents and that was an absolute lie. 22

Sidewalks # Feedback 1 I enjoy sidewalks as is, Keep it up! There are very few sidewalks in my area. Sad &dangerous to see folks walking in the dirt next to FM 685. 2 Your questions do not apply to my side of town. 3 Becker Farm Road needs sidewalks. 4 Downtown sidewalks are not accessible My opinion is that there should be elevated walkways from the water park to Stone Hill across 685. This 5 should be built into plans where pedestrian have to cross busy streets. Tunnels invite crime. On some streets, I wish there was a little more distance from the road, with perhaps some landscaping 6 barriers in between. As the city expands, planning for pedestrians is crucial. We've got a way to go in existing areas. It ought 7 to always be included so we don't have to play catch up at the taxpayer's expense. Some areas are great but then others are severely lacking. For instance around Metro park, if you live 8 across 130 near Falcon Pointe, it's impossible to walk or bike there. I live in Oldtown, south of Pecan St., and while I understand it would be a large project, building 9 sidewalks in this part of the city would be so helpful! The path along Pflugerville parkway between toll road 130 and Becker Farm road is asphalt. We need to 10 focus on improvements that well last, not just short term fixes. There needs to be a side walk along ALL of 685f rom Pecan to 130 toll. There are too many people trying 11 to walk to Walmart/Target and have no where to walk but in the street or weeds 12 Lots of sidewalks are non existing or need to be enhanced. Consider bike lanes. 13 I can’t walk to most of the locations I want to because of a lack of sidewalks 14 More sidewalks would be nice - especially in areas near schools. There is no continuity on the sidewalks. I have to walk on the sidewalk and then it ends so if I want to 15 continue, I have to walk on uneven grass which helps strengths my ankles but not good for people who have problems walking. 16 Existing? 24
Sidewalks # Feedback 17 Why are there so many sidewalks that go ‘nowhere’? Need more sidewalks and bike lanes!!!!! 18 Where available, they are satisfactory. The sidewalks are well maintained. All new or redeveloped land should include sidewalks and/or multi- 19 use paths. Some neighborhood sidewalks have received much-needed repairs, so thank you. Many streets (outside 20 of neighborhoods) do not have adequate sidewalks. It doesn't bother me if quiet neighborhoods do not have sidewalks but all busier streets need safe ways to travel for all people. Numerous sidewalks end abruptly still in Pflugerville. I've seen people in wheel chairs in the street because they were forced to go into the street when the side walk terminated into grass. Shameful for 21 a city with so much tax money to not be prioritizing citizens. Settlers valley west bound side walk ends. Pecan Street has sidewalk gaps. Central commerce drive has a sidewalk that Dump's into grass. Crosswalks # Feedback 1 Safety concerns for elderly and children 2 My HOA had to beg for several years to get a crosswalk on Steeds Crossing. 3 Not downtown There should be a crosswalk or pedestrian bridge for people to get across Weiss Lane safely when trying 4 to access the lake. 5 We need a crosswalk on Weiss from Via Sorento Way to the Lake Entrance. 6 Need a crosswalk at intersection of Weiss and Aventura Ave With the growing construction in Near Greenlawn and Pflugerville Pkwy, we need more street lights for 7 the increased traffic 8 Prioritize people not cars! They are not safe and this city prioritizes cars over people. Now you can take this concept too far and 9 make it where drivers get confused so I would not want to take that route. A happy balance is always a good strategy A lot of work needs to be done in this area. There are many areas where there are no crosswalks, 10 especially near park areas. 11 Need consistent signage for bicycle crossing. We need more consistent signage on bike trail crosswalks to determine who is responsible for yielding. I do not understand why the prevailing signage indicates that the trail users are responsible for stopping. 12 It would seem that the vehicles capable of doing more damage (cars) would be responsible, as motor boats are responsible for yielding to smaller and less powerful watercraft. Ideally, sidewalks and trails would go under streets as often as possible. Thi Ho was killed on 10th St because of the inadequacies of that crosswalk. I myself was almost hit on the very same crosswalk and had to jump out of the way to not be hit. I've literally reported that 13 crosswalk over 6 times in the last 10 years and now someone has been killed. It needs a flashing light system in the street pavement to alert cars that someone is about to cross that is initiated by pedestrians. Prioritize citizens, there has already been a death at this cross walk. Shameful. 25
Walking/Running Trails # Feedback We have too many of these to the exclusion of tennis courts which are much needed. The city has only 1 ONE (1) court for over 50,000 residents. I think Pflugerville should invest in trails hiking, sports to encourage the overall fitness of Pflugerville 2 citizens. We need more trails, more tree planting, and a plan for the trees coming down along the creek that runs 3 through our main city parks. 4 Would like to see more trails and focus on parks/nature/trees. The city owns a strip of land behind my home and it was supposed to be developed as a walking/ 5 running trail 20 years ago. Nothing has happened yet. It should be built. or a park. I love the hike/bike trails (5 stars) on the west side of town (west of 130), but we live on the east side and 6 there is no good trail to go from Falcon Pointe to the west-side trails w/out driving. I would love more trails in the northwest areas of Pflugerville! I am in an HOA now, so nice parks and 7 trails are hard to come by. 8 Would like if more of them were shaded as mostare unusable in the summer. Finish the master plan of lake Pflugerville. I'm tired of running through a bunch of people right by the 9 beach. 10 I love Pflugerville trails. We could always use more! 11 Tail system needs to be expanded, there is lots of opportunity. 12 There should be a map at the parks as to how they connect. Also more lakes and running trails 13 Need more trails to avoid being near cars to reach all business, school, and retail areas. 14 and more is always better! One area we've done really well at. If I want to go walking, I just leave my front door and one is nearby. 15 The issue is it's isolated and they don't connect to one another. It would be nice if the network of trails was more connected and led to destinations like restaurants/ 16 shopping/Austin trail system. 17 Trails should be connected to provide a continuous, alternative travel path 18 Need more paved trails and bike lanes on the roads!!! Walking trail between the Saxony & Katymead subdivisions meets the city standard for paving, it needs 19 to be paved. 20 More are needed to bridge subdivisions closer and to provide a safe walking environment to schools. 21 Trails. . . Trails everywhere. We have a great number of trails in very good shape, though they could be more connected to each 22 other and to destinations like restaurants and shopping. Connect the trails. Pflugerville received millions to do this and has still not done it. Connect the parks east and west of pecan st (north of Dessau) without requiring pedestrians to interact with 4 lane 23 traffic. The bridge at pecan and Dessau is where the connect needs to happen. Allow the sidewalk on westbound pecan to enter the trail from pecan st. If you don't get why it's currently a problem, go look. Take the walk and see what the trails currently require you to do to stay on that trail. 26
Amenities # Feedback 1 More lighting along these There are some pretty dark spots that could be lit. Large animals should be deterred from pedestrian 2 areas. 3 We need to do less mowing and allow the wildflowers to grow. Stop over mowing! I have seen may parks with little to no lighting. Many benches are so dirty that you cant even sit down 4 and many unappealing full trash cans. Also more appealing trails would be nice 5 The placement of the benches doesn't make sense a lot of times. It's decent. The weather here makes it hard and with the mosquitoes so I probably won't use it anyway. 6 It's a nice to have. 7 Not enough shady places around Pflugerville. Plant more oaks and pecan trees!!! Shade, seating and landscaping are minimal in our existing trail and pedestrian areas. We have LOTS 8 of open, sunny spaces which are windy and hot. More protected spaces to be outdoors would be wonderful. 9 Pflugerville is a tree desert compare to other communities in the Austin area. Accessibility # Feedback 1 The City could do much more in dealing with the issue, especially to accommodate an aging population We should make a economical, measured, and rational, decision on how we will care for our disabled 2 population. 3 As a mother of a disabled child, I cannot agree at all with this statement. This is a question that I think should be asked directly to disabled Pflugerville residents. Abled residents 4 aren't able to answer appropriately. 5 I'm not sure but probably not. Most cities do this as an afterthought. Older sidewalks have thankfully been improved in our area (they had really shifted) but many areas still 6 have no sidewalks. 7 Pflugerville needs to coordinate with an accessibility specialist. I agree with this because of the recent ADA work done to sidewalks in my neighborhood. Not so much 8 for the rest of the city. There are several places where sidewalks just stop or don't exist at all. I've mentioned witnessing people in wheel chairs going into the street to continue when the sidewalk 9 ends. This is a suburb of Austin, not some dead end small town in Alabama with no funds, connect all the sidewalks in this city! 27

SCENARIOS FEEDBACK Participants were able to add comments to each scenario. Their feedback is shown below. General Comment # Feedback I think it's great to increase jobs / walkability and general development in the city. We need to be forward thinking and are constantly overlooked by places like Round Rock and Cedar Park. The city 1 will be consumed by development regardless at some point. We need to be smart to make sure we are the next high profile area instead of the "junk town too close to Austin" vibe. We need to lay out an infrastructure that is CLEAN and desirable. Stop approving things like high density mattress stores. Poor map resolution. 2 Please consider changing zoning from RED to GREEN or PINK for the parcel just south of Gilleland Creek between Dessau and Bellaire Oaks Dr. Scenario 1 # Feedback Why CO2 reductions is so high for a less dense scenario, which would seen to require more cars and 1 create more CO2 emissions? 2 Walkability to retail just isn't realistic in Texas. It makes sense to keep the densest development closest to 130. The map colors and legend are a little hard to read. I don't know why the different types of housing are split up into 5 or 6 groups but parks 3 are mixed into flood plains. If floodplains truly are public spaces that we are allowed to recreate in, they should be marked as such. Otherwise the amount of park space in these maps is vastly overstated. Scenario 2 # Feedback 1 Are our current high density housing at capacity? Why build more if we haven't hit capacity? 2 Too much, too fast with already lack of services like police and EMS 3 Too many apartments 4 In order for the city go grow sustainably, this is the scenario that we need to adopt. We need streets made for people, not cars. People need a range of options for housing they can own, 5 not that people are forced to rent forever. Please do NOT allow any more multi-units and small lots. It's a magnet for crime. Cheaper housing will attract a lower socioeconomic group that will result in higher crime rates. The rise in crime that naturally 6 comes with growth is difficult enough to manage. Why would you want to exacerbate the problem? Have you noticed where the recent shootings have taken place? Or how unkempt the lawns are in many of these neighborhoods? I'm not sure how this scenario would reduceCO2 by putting large scale mixed retail out farther from the currently developed area. Also, while I am a fan of mixed use developments like The Domain, they need 7 to be truly walkable in a safe way. I would prefer to see driving into a parking ramp in the development be completely separate from the walking areas. The Domain and Stone Hill have way too much vehicular and pedestrian traffic interactions to feel truly safe. 32
Scenario 3 # Feedback 1 I wasn't sure if #3 has lower density than #2 or lower than #1. Didn't seem to be abundantly clear. I think this is a happy medium of keeping the small town feeling and the rural/farms near by. And have the employment and high density concentrated in one area. It's nice to go out in the less dense area to 2 have the choice to escape the city life and enjoy the history and beauty of the slow pace of life without having to drive outside the city limits. Again, limits the concrete jungle effect but provides ability to escape or head to the city. Choices is what makes a city more flexible. A big reason we moved to Pflugerville was because it was less crowded than Austin. It was more 3 affordable to buy a single family home on a bigger lot here than other areas in a city. We like the small town feel and the manageable in-town traffic. 33
