28th August: Emirati Women’s Day September 2022 5th September: International Day of Charity 21st September: International Day of Peace 4.0 The Shift in Community Engagement Activities and Events After over a year and a half of the ongoing global pandemic of COVID-19, its effects transformed and changed the traditional way of ADSM’s Community Engagement. However, Community Engagement Unit continues to make maximum effort to actively engage with the Community in new proactive ways. Even though some of the group gatherings are back in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, we prioritize the health and safety of ADSM Community as the pandemic didn’t end yet. The strategy for the next Academic Year (2021-2022) will be to stay little longer with virtual. We will start with online events and webinars on Microsoft Teams as a platform. Microsoft Teams provides great opportunities to engage with attendees before event, during event and after event. This format also allows for a much larger audience capacity and gives the flexibility to attendees to connect from anywhere using their device. But at a later stage during the Academic Year, we plan to move back to campus events depending on current campus restrictions. Despite the challenges being faced by the COVID-19, the Community Engagement Unit is adapting and strongly dedicated to developing collaborative partnerships that yield mutually beneficial outcomes for the community it belongs to, and to all the institution’s faculty, staff, students and alumni through various communication channels.
