GLORIA A RETROSPECTIVE OF ICONIC THROUGH LOUGHMAN AUSTRALIAN IMAGES OUR EYES A RT IS T S P OT LIGHT THREE OF Gloria has been a tutor at AQC since the first year and her iconic work seems to exemplify the originality of Australian quilting US +1 Internationally recognised in the quilting world, Gloria Loughman is revered as a creator of incredible quilts, and a teacher that students want to be with and learn from. Her work has evolved over the years, but also stands the test of time. We have invited her to show a retrospective of her quilts over the last three decades, which will be a focus of the AQC quilt show. Currently Gloria is working on a book collaboration featuring photographs by her husband Tony. Presented by South Australian textile artists Jenny Bates, Kerrie Head, Maxine Fry and Suzanne Gummow liked the idea of their separate works being placed together to form a larger piece of work. They challenged themselves to work in a quirky naïve style, with the water, land and sky flowing from one piece to another.
