DEAR ALUMNI, PARENTS, AND FRIENDS OF TUFTS,
It was a great year for the Tufts Travel-Learn program! We had more
faculty hosts accompanying trips in 2019 than in past years, and I
got to know more of our adventurous and curious Tufts travelers. I
am finding a keen interest in trips that go a little off the beaten path,
have opportunities for more physical activity, and offer some uniquely
“Jumbo” insight.
With that in mind, I am pleased to bring you the 2020 catalog of trips.

covered under the university’s ISOS umbrella policy, which provides
emergency medical evacuation and assistance.
• Know your travel limits. Some of our itineraries are more demanding
than others. Be sure you’re in adequate physical and mental health for
the journey you choose. When in doubt, ask your physician. If you need
specific kinds of help, you must have a companion who can provide all
the required assistance. Our tour operators reserve the right to send
home any participants (at the participants’ own expense) who require
more assistance than can reasonably be provided.
• Understand pricing and capacity. These are group trips; our tour
operators set the price and number of travelers. Occasionally trips
are canceled due to low enrollment. If you have questions about
minimum and maximum capacity, please contact our office or the tour
operator for the program. Most prices listed are per person based on
double occupancy. Limited single accommodations are available for
an additional fee. However, our operators can note your interest in
finding a roommate if you wish to do so. You may also contact Tufts
Travel-Learn to sign up to receive notice when a trip with no single
supplement fee is being offered.
