Make-Up and Senior Portraits ● Wednesdays in early September ● Make-up photo day, faculty ID, Senior portraits. ● Probably need to divide this across 2 days. ● Tentative Sept. 2, Sept. 9, and/or Sept. 16.
Fall 2020 Distance Learning ● DPMHS will begin August 18 with full distance on-line learning program ● Detailed class schedules to follow ● Updates will be sent through email and on the website
Synchronous Tools ● Google / Zoom/Schoology Etc. ○ Video Conferencing tool allowing up to 250 simultaneous video connections. Participants limited to DPMHS students and teachers. ○ Screen sharing, presentations, recording, integrated with Google Classroom, Zoom, Schoology , Calendar, etc. ● Pear Deck/NearPod/PlayPosit/Padlet ○ Interactive slideshow apps with formative assessment tools. ● Socrative ○ Student response and assessment tool, including instant polls, quizzes, etc. ● Schoology, Zoom, Google Enterprise for Education if they chose to utilize this ○ Full suite of apps and management tools - Google Docs, Slides, etc.
Asynchronous Tools ● FlipGrid/Edpuzzle/Screencastify ○ Video recording apps that allow teachers and students to create interactive video recordings ● Kami ○ PDF & document annotation app that serves as a digital pen and paper. Also allows students and teachers to add audio and video annotations ● Peergrade ○ App that enables sharing of student work, including the ability to share anonymously and enable peer feedback ● Google Originality Reports ○ Students and teachers can use this to compare student work against web pages, books, and other students’ assignments

Athletics & Activites
The state CIF has determined that all athletics and sports will occur during the spring semester this year so long as conditions allow (approval of the governor, county health, and LAUSD). DPMHS & Birmingham will start the fall semester with distance learning and will adjust as conditions allow.

Class Schedule Information ● Schedules will be available for viewing Friday, August 14 by 3:00 pm. ● Limited program changes after school starts can be made before Permanent Programming Day on August 28 ● Reasons for program changes are limited to schedule conflicts and athletics/activities needs ● Grade 9 program changes begin after grades 10-12 ● Please complete a course request change form (will be added to the Pearl Website page the first week of August) Check your email for more information coming soon!
