It is unusual to see a group of Porsches together, but especially when it is off the beaten path! Since we climbed in elevation to get to this rest stop, there was a little snow in the grassy ar- eas and on the trees. It was a little chillier than earlier when we staged. However, it was a neat feeling be- ing surrounded by tall trees with some yellow aspens mixed in and listening to the sun melt the snow off the tree tops. We headed onward. This part of the drive was, well, just plain and simple fun! The road was relatively rock free with some short little climbs, lots of mud puddles, and some spots that rocked the vehicles side to side! In our Macan, the three passengers were excited and shouted “Mud Puddle” every time we saw them! When it was open and smoother, we would splash our way through, causing the water to go up high above the roof line of the Macan. The puddles were more water than mud and nothing was deeper than 6 inch- es. There was no need for tow ropes here! We had a lot of laughing and giggling on our ride! We ended up on South Rampart Range Road and went through some very pretty and picturesque spots on the road. Unfortunately, it was not a safe idea to have everyone stop for a photo op.
