SPRING FORWARD!
We have an action packed programme lined up for you to enjoy this spring…
We kick off our New Year as always with the Kilfenora Céilí Band and follow it
with many popular music shows, as well as a new film series which includes
2 public screenings of An Cailín Ciúin and a schools’ screening in January, back
by popular demand as we get into Oscar fervour.
In February we welcome Druid Theatre with their five star comedy The Last
Return by Sonya Kelly (following her fantastic play Furniture in 2020) and we are
particularly excited to present the world premiere of KING by the amazing Pat
Kinevane, produced by Fishamble, supported by a Nasc Network Commission.
In March we have a fabulous Ennis Book Club Festival programme to feast on –
curated by new artistic director Martina Durac. We are also delighted to welcome
the return of Corofin Dramatic Society, Ennis Players, Ennis Musical Society as
well as a host of other local events back to glór – who have been missed! And of
course make sure to stop in for a look around our beautiful exhibitions featuring
Ukrainian artist Yevhen Svitlychnyi and work from the Photo Museum Ireland whilst
you enjoy a coffee at our café.
So get plotting your spring and make the most of these longer, brighter days ahead!

THE BURREN–UKRAINIAN CHRONICLES
BY YEVHEN SVITLYCHNYI: PART III
OPEN FROM FRI 27 JAN AND RUNS UNTIL SAT 25 FEB
As a result of the war, contemporary artist Yevhen Svitlychnyi was
forced to flee Ukraine for Ballyvaughan and the magical Burren.
In Ukrainian, painting is called obrazotvorche mystetstvo, literally the
art of creating images. In the works presented in this exhibition, the
images of the unspeakable tragedy of the war are created through
the prism of thousands of years of biblical history, and culture: war
- death - life - image - myth. The first part of the cycle The Burren–
Ukrainian Chronicles: 2022 was created and exhibited at Burren
College of Art whilst part II was hosted by The Courthouse gallery in

Ennistymon. glór now presents part III of the cycle.
Everything that I have felt and absorbed since I arrived in Ireland,
I have captured in these images, and with their visible and hidden
meanings, viewers will create their own secret, their own myth.
