Conclusion: Reading is
definitely going places
Overall, our SWOT analysis illustrates a
mood of buoyant optimism, with Reading’s
strengths and opportunities outweighing
any inherent weaknesses or threats visible
on the horizon.

The near-term challenges will be to
capitalise on this economic momentum
and prosperity, in line with the town’s
long-term goals, in order to develop a
unique personality for Reading as a smart
and sustainable city.

Long-term, Reading needs to take
advantage of its key attributes – location
and technology – to take responsibility
and control of its own destiny.

In May we made our first moves towards establishing a full-service offering from our new

Christopher Avery commented: “The move to The Blade and the high calibre of personnel we
have already attracted are indicative of Gateley Plc’s future plans for its Thames Valley office.
These appointments are the first part of our journey in Reading. Discussions are currently
