AND WINE SHOP
1 OPENING TIMES
In addition to our usual opening hours, we will open for
late night shopping throughout December and expand
our opening days in Christmas week. Sign up to our
Newsletter via our home page or follow us on Social
Media for more information. Emails may be handled
outside of opening hours and the phone may be
switched off, during busy periods.
2 DELIVERIES
December is our busiest time, so we will be using DHL
both beyond
to provide overnight delivery services,
Darlington, and nationally. Delivery is £9.95 and the
last posting date is 22nd December; remember we
need 48 hours notice and we don't deliver Saturday -
Monday. Scottish Highlands are currently not available
for delivery.
3 PRE-ORDERING
We strongly recommend pre-ordering cheese and
and New Year. Pre-orders
special drinks for Christmas
can only be done via email. During busy periods, pre-
order collection will take place from #6 Clark's Yard
to minimise queues as much as possible. Look for
signage outside of the shop for more info.
4 HAMPERS + CHEESE BOARDS
We are launching a range of pre-set hampers and
cheese board selections to suit all budgets, details of
which are included in this brochure. We will reserve
some capacity to fulfil bespoke orders, but pre-
ordering will be essential to avoid disappointment.
5 GIFTS + VOUCHERS
We will have a range of gifts, spirits, Port, Sherry,
Champagnes and Sparkling Wines as well as physical
vouchers available in store. If you're a last minute
shopper don't worry, customisable e-Vouchers will be
available, which can be sent right up until 1pm on
Christmas Eve.

USEFUL INFO
This is our third Christmas as owners and we're starting to get the hang of things. The first
Christmas we didn't have any where near enough stock and had to let people down. The
second Christmas we had stock challenges with Brexit, compounded by Covid, with lorries
stuck at Calais not able to cross the channel - a dramatic incident leading to no Vacherin
Mont D’Or. We also had social distancing to contend with and unhappy neighbours when we
blocked their gates at the flats... and the Great British weather of course!
COVID-19
Our personal view on Covid-19 is that we've come this far, we're not about to be
complacent now. We will still continue to wear masks and encourage our 'Christmas
Helpers' to do so, unless they have a strong preference not to, or a health reason which
prevents them from wearing one. We will also continue to limit in store shopping to three
households at a time.
This means there will likely be queuing and to avoid any conflict with our neighbours, we're
asking you to keep away from the entry gates to the flats next to our shop. Please be
respectful.
THE GREAT BRITISH WEATHER
Though we have absolutely no control over this, we can aim to minimise your discomfort
when queuing. We’re providing free umbrella hire for our queuing customers. There will be
an umbrella stand in the doorway, please pop up and grab one then take your place in the
queue. We’d be grateful if you could replace the umbrella on entering the store and give
the handle a quick wipe with a sanitising wipe for us.
QUEUEING + ETIQUETTE
We will have a queue during busy periods, Covid or not. We are an independent business
offering advice and recommendations on our artisan produce. Some customers take their
time to choose and we won’t rush them. We realise this is frustrating but we will not
tolerate abuse or complaints directed to us or other customers by people queueing.
We feel sad we have to say this, but unfortunately there’s been more than one case of this
happening in past years.
STOCK

your pre-orders which are incredibly helpful, as it means we can plan better. We're
keeping everything crossed for no factors outside of our control, but the current Supply
Chain crisis and fuel panic could be impactful. We advise against leaving it until 11am on
Christmas Eve to pop in and then being disappointed.CHRISTMAS

corrugated card hamper boxes with clear windows and luxury ribbon. Check

printed instructions, just in case you like to follow a guide instead.

We know how daunting it can be to choose a cheeseboard - deciding how
much you need and then how much variety to offer can be a challenge on top
of your other Christmas planning, especially when we offer over 100 cheeses!
We have carefully curated a few options below, which we hope will make it
easier for you. Pricing below is for 2 people for cheese only. Please order
multiples if you need to serve more people, and do let us know if you'd like
advice on paired accompaniments.

French themed, luxurious, unpasteurised for unique flavours to
develop; this truly is The Dream. Each cheese will be substituted
according to availability, as our suppliers have found it hard during
Covid-19 and with the Brexit climate to guarantee supply. Unsuitable
for Vegetarians due to the use of Animal Rennet in traditional
French cheesemaking.
