LADIES OPEN – Sunday 24th May – Coffee and pastry on arrival followed by 18-hole Fourball
better ball competition, Thorpeness Afternoon tea and prize giving.
MIXED OPEN - Monday 25th May – Coffee and bacon roll on arrival followed by 18-hole

LADIES EUROPEAN PRO AM AND SHOOT-OUT 30th July - 1st August – Yes, the girls are
back in town for the fourth annual LET Pro Am. Join in the fun with some of the stars of
the ladies tour, play alongside the professionals in a unique 2 day Pro Am, followed by an
opportunity to watch the pros pair up for the four-ball shoot-out.
MIXED COUPLES EVENTS – Bring your nearest and dearest for a 3-night stay at Thorpeness,
competitions, dinner bed & breakfast, welcome drinks party, lunches on competition days,
great company, fabulous value from £530 per couple.

A founder member of the Ladies European
Tour, PGA Honorary Member, Advanced
Fellow of the PGA, Professional golfer since
1976.
Chris turned professional in 1976 to pursue a career as a tournament player, she was
one of the first players to qualify to play on the US LPGA Tour she is a founder member
of the Ladies European Tour where she won 5 tournaments.
Chris became the first woman professional to be appointed as a Head Pro at a
committee run members club in the UK when she was selected by Clevedon Golf Club
near Bristol her other posts include Director of Golf at Castle Combe in Wiltshire, the
Desert Springs Golf Academy in Spain and Abbotsley Golf Hotel in Cambridge.
During her coaching career, which has now spanned 4 decades, she has been county
coach to no fewer than 8 counties, a regional coach for the English Ladies Golf
Association and National Coach to The Welsh Ladies Golf Union for 7 years. In 2012
Chris was asked to assist in the preparation of the Curtis Cup Team prior to their match
at Nairn against the Americans (which they won!).
Chris is now the Director of Golf at Thorpeness Golf Club & Hotel where she runs her
ever-successful coaching business, whilst she still hosts events in faraway (often sunny)
places she is always happy to return home to Suffolk, where she can usually be found
coaching at the foot of the House in the Clouds, with her ever faithful “spaniel” Joe
Cocker in attendance!
