As we gather for worship on this first Sunday of Lent,
we come as a people in need of mercy and as a people who have received it.
Let us give glory to our merciful, loving, compassionate, and Triune God.
                             Welcome to worship!

This morning Pastor Michael will continue his series, “Finding Grace in the
Seven Deadly Sins” as we take up the second one, “Vainglory”. We will be
using several passages in Proverbs, including Proverbs 11:2; 16:18-19;
25:6-7; and 31:30, along with some additional Scripture passages. Next
week, we will talk about “Sloth”.

Today we have the privilege of witnessing and participating in the
celebration of the baptism of Kolt Bemis, the infant son of Logan
      and Karlee Bemis.

Pastor Michael’s Profession of Faith/New Members Class begins this
afternoon at 2:00. We will be meeting in the youth worship area upstairs.
Thanks to all who have registered. If you are already a member and would
like a ‘refresher’, you are welcome to attend as well.

Our Church Family
Please continue to keep several members of our congregation in prayer as
they recover from injuries or procedures. These include Peter Larson, Ed
Hanenburg, John Kjos, and Roger Peel.

A funeral service for Curt Nobel will be held this Saturday at 11:00 here at
church. The family will be available one hour prior to the service and a light
lunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall following. Thank you for your
prayers and support for the Nobel family during this time.

Please pray for the delegates of Classis Lake Superior as they meet tomorrow
at Unity CRC in Prinsburg, MN. Pastor Michael, Bill Ruis (elder) and Kristi
Santema (deacon) will be representing Pease CRC.

“Words fail to express our gratitude for your prayers, expressions of sympathy
& love shown to us as we grieve. Vicki was a precious daughter, sister & aunt
and will be dearly missed. Our comfort is found in Isaiah 41:10 which reads
‘So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will
strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.’”
                                 ~Lorraine, Carl & Carol, Tim & Jess & girls
