A HOME FOR
       ALL SEASONS

Originally a farm cottage, the remote and tranquil
fields and waterways surrounding it are no longer
farming land. Over the past 18 years it has been
transformed into Chimney Meadows, one of
Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust’s largest
nature reserves and a refuge for wading birds and
wildfowl, so the only sound is of the birds calling
to each other and the buzz of insects.

In the spring, the wetlands are carpeted with
yellow cowslips and, in the summer, fields once
planted with wheat and barley are now gently
swaying wildflower meadows. In the winter,
the wildfowl arrive and huge murmurations of
starlings swoop overhead. What a haven this
place is, and you can live right here in the midst
of it.

Walk back through the hallway and step into the
impressive kitchen/family room. There’s loads of
space here for the family to cook, dine and relax.
The spacious, sleek gloss-white kitchen is configured
in a ‘U’ shape, so everything is neatly to hand, with
granite worktops. The high-end Neff appliances
include two eye-level full sized slide and hide ovens

induction hob with a designer extractor fan above it.

table at the far end of the family room, next to the two
glass corner walls formed by the sliding doors. In the
summer these can be drawn back, with the effect of
merging indoors with outdoors – just imagine what
wonderful summertime gatherings you can enjoy.

Above this is a double-height space with an impressive

landing. With so much space to play with, this room
has the flexibility to be used as the main living area,
while the existing living room could become a formal
dining room if desired.

The cottage gardens are expansive and currently laid

A fence delineates the main garden area and, beyond
this, there is a sizeable paddock with two sheds and a
