Bringing together two Australian contemporary dance companies, Australian Dance
Theatre and Co:3 Australia, comes the Adelaide return season of Objekt by
    Garry Stewart.
Objekt begins in a surreal world where bodies are seen as aestheticised objects of art,
and gradually transitions to a sociological depiction of humans as objects of subjugation
and objectification. Blurring the borders between visual arts and dance, Objekt plays with
our perception and makes us see the human body in compelling ways that are unique,
    arresting and at times, confronting.
First presented in Australia in 2016, critics called it “Extremely powerful”, Dance Australia
and “A riveting and exciting artistic achievement reflecting quality collaboration on all
    levels”, InDaily.

Before your very eyes, our unreliable

The ever popular Leaps & Bounds Dance Day is on again in 2020.
Secondary dance students have the opportunity to be inspired by
industry dancers and choreographers and hear from successful SACE
                                 dance students.
Throughout the day students will get active and engage in three
practical technique workshops with professional dancers and
dance educators before finishing the day with some tips on how to
successfully manage the SACE Dance Curriculum.

Participants must wear appropriate dance gear. They are also expected to understand
safe dance practices and dance class procedures. Teachers hold the duty of care and
must supervise their attending students at all times. The day is busy, so we ask that all
students and teachers bring their recess, lunch and a water bottle to refill as there will
not be the opportunity to leave the grounds.

AND PARADE PROGRAM
We invite schools to once again join us at the ever popular Moon Lantern Parade - seen as
a calendar highlight by students and communities alike.
School participation in lantern making workshops and the festival’s Parade provides the
opportunity for genuine integration of the Australian Curriculum’s cross-curriculum priority
of Asia & Australia’s Engagement with Asia.
TAKE PART IN 2020
Our OzAsia Festival teaching artists will visit selected participating schools to run lantern
workshops in the term leading up to the parade. Together with your school’s teachers and
parent volunteers, artists will lead students in creating lanterns that they will then carry in
OzAsia Festival’s Moon Lantern Parade!
