What’s happening? Katikati Festival of Cultures With the success of the Katikati Festival of Cultures 2019, now more than ever we want to promote a feeling of community and inclusion within our wonderful town, and celebrate all the unique cultures within it. We will once again celebrate through a street parade through town, vibrant cultural performances, food and craft stalls and some new surprises in store! Please join us on Saturday 6th March at Haiku Park. Tauranga Multicultural Festival Come along to this celebration of the diverse cultures who live in Tauranga and call this city home. Experience the colourful and vibrant display of dance, food, music and culture. Discovery tents will provide an opportunity for visitors to experience different cultures through interactive activities alongside free children’s activities. Park and Ride available. Check out the website for details. The annual ‘Parade of Nations’ will begin at noon – everyone is welcome to participate. In celebration of Cultural Diversity Awareness Month, Saima Hussain Anis and Song Lam will be talking about their personal experiences and sharing a unique perspective on embracing their own voice and diversity living in New Zealand. Topics covered are identity, cultural awareness, examining and confronting issues, responding and social action.
