Educational Programs Postgraduate Courses on Remote Sensing & GIS (RS & GIS) Every Year Satellite Communication (SATCOM) & Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) Alternate Odd Year (OY) Satellite Meteorology & Global Climate (SATMET) Technical Visit, Earth Station, Shadnagar, Hyderabad Alternate Even Year (EY) Space and Atmospheric Sciences (SAS) Alternate Even Year (EY) In the year 2020 due to Pandemic, Post Graduate Diploma Courses (9 Short Courses month) could not be hosted. Disaster Risk Reduction Short Courses were conducted in Small Satellite Missions Online Mode. user demand based courses In the year 2021 Long Courses are planned to be conducted in Hybrid Mode. ❑ The status of implementation of Asia-Pacific Plan of Action on Space Applications for Sustainable Development (2018-2030) in CSSTEAP ❑ Disaster risk reduction and resilience - CSSTEAP has organized Online Short Courses on DRR: • SAARC Virtual Regional workshop on “Enhancing Preparedness for Climate Related Disasters Using Space-Based Technologies”, February 17, 2021 (63 officials from SAARC countries) • Recent Advances in Space Applications for Forest Monitoring and Assessment during April 12-16, 2021. (56 participants from 8 countries) • Space Technology for Disaster Management during April 19-30, 2021. (45 participants from 11 countries) • Coastal Zone Management in response to Natural Hazards and Climate Variability during July 26 - August 06, 2021. (43 participants from 7 countries) • Use of Space Technology for Weather and Climate Studies during May 17-31, 2021. (43 participants from 10 countries) ❑ Connectivity for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development - CSSTEAP is committed to achieve the SDGs and have included SDGs in its PGD core courses. - Remote Sensing and GIS Technology and Applications online course during Nov. 16-27, 2020 (68 participants from 16 countries) - Space and Atmospheric Science online course during December 7-14, 2020. (61 participants from 11 countries) - Planned in UN/Austria Symposium 2021 Post-Symposium Capacity Building event: Space Applications for Food Systems, UNOOSA- ISRO/CSSTEAP-ESA-NASA collaboration for training courses on the Application of EO Technologies for Agriculture during Oct. 5 & 7, 2021 Good practice in combating covid-19 and lessons learnt - CSSTEAP jointly organized Phase I of MOOC on Geospatial Applications for Disaster Risk Management with UNOOSA during Oct. 2020 to January, 2021. About 29,727 participants from 104 countries participated in the MOOC. - Phase II of MOOC on Geospatial Applications for Disaster Risk Management was launched on June 01, 2021 and will continue till Nov. 30, 2021. - Other courses through Distance Learning Programmes (DLP) and Webinar are also being planned. ❑ Other issues, including requests for assistance, advice on partnerships and agreements you participate in, new and innovative activities or advances relating to the use of space applications in your country/organization, etc. - Networking with institutions like ESCAP, UNSPIDER, ICIMOD for contributing towards sustainable development in this region.
