Camp Ramara– 2018—Week # 1—July 3rd–6th (4 days) HEROES VS. VILLAINS—We all love the classic superheroes and villains, but what about the ones we never talk about? Use your hero skills that you learn throughout the week to defeat the evil villains you come across and save the day! We will be playing games related to all of our favourite superheroes and villains, as well as some older or more unique characters. Wear your capes and hero outfits, this week we will transform you into heroes! Tuesday-Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 4-6 years Fee $ 95/ 4 day week No Camp MONDAY UNSOLVED MYSTERIES- A mystery has fallen over camp Ramara and it’s up to you to solve it! Gain valuable skills this week and push yourself to the limit! This week will be full of team work, problem solving challenges, escape rooms to build on your skills, and a camp wide mystery to end the week. We will learn investigation techniques, interview our suspects, and learn to collect evidence and figure out who dunnit! Tuesday-Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 7-10 years Fee $ 95/ 4 day week No Camp MONDAY SO YOU WANNA BE A CAMP COUNSELLOR? — Similar to our popular Leaders in Training Camp, this camp is for the group that knows they want to be involved and help out at Camp Ramara but aren’t quite 13 years old yet. In this camp we will teach what it takes to be a successful leader at Camp Ramara and spend some time in camp learning hands on skills. Topics will include things like: how to get a group’s attention, ice breakers, time filling games, leadership skills, teambuilding, reading and following a schedule and so much more! While it will be a jam-packed week of learning and developing leadership skills, this week is sure to be a ton of fun for all of us! Tuesday-Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 10 yrs + Fee $95 / 4 day week No Camp MONDAY Camp Ramara– 2018—Week # 2—July 9th-13th CAMP SCENE INVESTIGATION (CSI) - For our young scientists and curious campers! A crime has occurred at Camp Ramara and you must work together to solve it and find the culprit. Learn cool techniques from evidence collection, to blood spatter analysis, test your finger- prints and follow the clues to eliminate suspects and find the true criminal! We will spend time working on teamwork in this camp through every step of the process and to prove our top sus- CSI Monday-Friday 9:00 am-4:00 pm Ages 4-7 years Fee $115 S.T.E.A.M.- Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. This camp is for the creative camper that loves to build! Similar to the STEAM programs implemented in school curriculum, this week we will use a variety of resources and materials to challenge our creative sides and come up with the coolest results possible. We will spend a day on each area, focusing on the fun and wacky activities that may not be able to be done in school. If you love building and discovering, this camp is for you! Monday-Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 7-10 years Fee $115 CREATIVE CONSULTANTS- Do you love trying new art projects and seeing what you can come up with? This week we will be pulling a ton of activities from our favourite website—Pinterest! We will be using all different materials and approaches to each activity, from art projects to science experiments in an attempt to get the coolest results possible. With all of the creativity in the room this week, who knows what we will come up with! Monday-Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 9-13 years Fee $115
Camp Ramara– 2018—Week # 3—July 16th—20th PASSION FOR FASHION — Do you love seeing the latest trends? Making your own style and always looking your best? This week we will be using different materials to make our own fashion statements like bags and shirts to take home and show off! With such a variety of things to make and a personal spin on each, it’s sure to be an awesome week! Passion for Fashion Monday –Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 5-12 years Fee $ 115/ week GUTS— For our campers that love learning how things work! This week we have a ton of old electronics and household items to take apart to learn what makes them work from the inside! We will also be looking at electronic and real animals to learn about the body, using things like online dissections. An awesome week for any budding scientists or the ones that love pulling stuff apart! GUTS Monday –Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 5-12 years Fee $ 115/ week LEADERS IN TRAINING (LIT)— The LIT program strives to develop today’s young people into the leaders of tomorrow! As this is our pre-requisite for anyone wishing to volunteer with us, we provide targeted training opportunities and the ins and outs of camp Ramara. Following completion of this training camp, the opportunity is provided to volunteer and gain “on-the- job” skills in 2018 camps. Topics covered this week include: behaviour management, program planning, resume writing, interviewing, inclusion and accessibility, and so much more! LIT Monday –Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 13 yrs + Fee $85 / week Camp Ramara– 2018—Week # 4—July 23rd—27th BIG BANG SCIENCE—Do you have a camper that likes to get Ooey, Gooey and Gross? This week will be all about experimentation and theory with a good dose of Slimy and Cool! Join us for a week of scientific adventures! Big Bang Science Monday-Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 4-6 years Fee $ 115 week JUNKYARD WARS— This week is all about what we can use recycled materials for! To prove our point, we will be using things from our recycling bins to run activities and make awesome art. Making sure our campers know the importance of recycling, or goal for this week is to reuse as much as possible! Junkyard Wars Monday-Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 7-10 years Fee $ 115 week OUTDOOR LEADERSHIP CAMP - Campers will be immersed in learning outdoor education skills this week. Things like geocaching, orienteering, reading a map, building and cooking with hand made solar ovens, pitching a tent, gathering materials needed for successful fire building, identifying animals and plants, wilderness first aid, packing a successful hike pack along with leadership and group trust games. Campers should make sure they wear proper outdoor attire including sturdy footwear, sunscreen, hat, insect repellant and rain gear (if needed) . Outdoor Leadership Monday-Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 9-13 years Fee $ 115 week RAMARA SUMMER VOLLEYBALL SKILLS— The volleyball program offered at Twin Lakes S.S. by coaches and former Suns players is available for people wishing to try out the sport or improve their skills. Choose from Beginner (8 yrs + with little to no experience) or Intermediate ( players with OVA or school team experience). We guarantee you will learn a ton of new skills in this intense 4 day camp! Wear athletic clothes, non-marking shoes and bring a refillable water bottle. Beginner Mon-Thurs 9:00am-12:00pm Ages 8+ $70 TLSS Intermediate Mon-Thurs 12:30pm-3:30pm OVA, or highschool $70 TLSS
Camp Ramara– 2018—Week # 5—July 30th– August 3rd OUTDOOR ADVENTURERS — Similar to our popular Outdoor Leadership camp, but for the young ones! This camp will be all about learning skills related to camping and exploring like solar ovens, pitching a tent, identifying plants and animals, following a map and so much more! We will be spending lots of time outside this week so bring water, sunscreen, a hat and running shoes! Outdoor Adventurers Monday-Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 4-6 years Fee $ 115/ week FUTURE FILM MAKERS— Back by popular demand! Join your film crew this week and take on a new challenge of script writing, casting, making props, costume and makeup design, filming and editing! This year we added a twist and are having campers make a music video as well— so bring your inner superstar! We will finish off the week with a Film Festival Friday afternoon to show off all your hard work! Monday- Friday Film Festival Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 7-12 years Fee $ 115/ week RAMARA SUMMER VOLLEYBALL ADVANCED SKILLS— The advanced skills camp offered at Twin Lakes S.S. by coaches and former Suns players. This camp is only available to highschool aged players who currently play OVA and want to tune up their skills during the off season. Dress in athletic clothing and non-marking shoes—knee pads recommended! Remember to bring snacks and water every day! Camp T-shirt included. Monday– Thursday 9:00 am—1:00 pm Ages -Highschool $70 Twin Lakes S.S Camp Ramara– 2018—Week # 6—Aug. 7th –10th (4 days) YOU’RE A WIZARD, CAMPER - You have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! Get sorted into your Hogwarts house, make a wand, and spend time taking wizardry classes including potions, herbology, magical creatures and defense against the dark arts! It is sure to be a jam-packed, amazing week full of magic! Wizards Tuesday-Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 9-13 years Fee $95/4 day week WATER WARS - This is it—an all out colour and water war that will determine who is greatest champ of them all. Can the campers defeat the Counsellors and finally take the crown? Every day we’ll explore a new challenge involving water. Be prepared to get wet on a daily basis! Campers should bring towel and swim suit every day. Water Wars Tuesday-Friday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 4-6 years Fee $95 / 4 day week BEAT THE HEAT—Always a fun week at camp! During those hot, hot days of summer, we have lots of water-filled adventures to keep us cool. Campers this week can accumulate challenge points to soak their favourite Counsellor, and compete with them in a variety of water-themed obstacles of their choosing! Camp Ramara– 2018—Week # 7—August 13th-17th PLAYZONE— Coming close to the end of the summer and have a ton of extra energy? This is the camp for you! This week is FULL of sports, high energy games, wacky activities and intense counsellor challenges. Compete against other campers in classic games like capture the flag, or compete against your counsellors in a slip and slide competition. This one is sure to be a blast, and tire you and your counsellors out! Reminder—NO Camp Friday (August 17) NOTE– 4 days Monday-Thursday 9:00 am—4:00 pm Ages 5-12 years Fee $95 / 4 days CENTRE STAGE—LIVE!— A one week intense but extremely fun program where participants learn choreography and songs to perform onstage with lights, sound, props, costumes and set pieces on Friday night! We work hard to put on one of the best stage performances around on Friday night. Campers will be expected to practice at home for the show. This is always a very popular week so if you want in, sign up now! Monday– Friday 9:00 am– 4:00 pm Ages 6-12 years Fee $120 / week Show– Friday 7 pm Camp Ramara– 2018—Week # 8 August 20th-24th THEATRE ARTS CAMP—NOTE—This is a TWO WEEK camp and runs until August 31st. Cast members wanted ! Do you like to sing, act and dance? This is THE PLACE to hone your “Triple Threat” skills and amaze yourself and your family and friends. The pinnacle of our summer camp experience, we end our summer with a bang with a TWO WEEK Theatre Arts Camp that ends in a full Musical Theatre Production—complete with lights, sounds, props, costumes and set pieces. Campers will receive scripts and music and will be expected to practice at home. Two shows on Thursday August 31st will take place with the final CAST PARTY ending up our 2018 season. The BEST way to end the summer!! Monday– Friday 9:00 am– 4:00 pm Ages 10-16 years Fee $220/ 2 weeks Shows– Aug. 30th 2 weeks ! (Includes Cast Shirt ) 3:00 & 7:30 pm ART ATTACK- Do you have a budding artist on your hands? Come join us for a full week of different projects using a variety of materials, textures, canvases and supplies. We will use our standard art supplies, plus some wacky materials to create our masterpieces! Finish off the week with an art show on Friday afternoon! Monday– Friday 9:00 am– 4:00 pm Ages 4-6 years Fee $115/ week Art Show Friday APP-VENTURES— This week is all about seeing our favourite apps come to life! From angry birds, to temple run, to minecraft and word games, any app that you love is going to be included! We will also spend time this week designing our own apps and making them come to life in camp, just like our favourites! App-ventures Monday– Friday 9:00 am– 4:00 pm Ages 7-10 years Fee $115/ week Camp Ramara– 2018—Week # 9 August 27th— August 31st CAMPER’S CHOICE—You’ve spent all summer with your counsellors telling you what to do and how to do it—now the tables have turned and you will be calling all the shots! Campers will have the opportunity to plan their day and have the Counsellors facilitate the program. This program is only 3 days, but is full of as many activities and games that the campers can come up with! How far will the campers go?!
