Vaccination
 Updates

Vaccination Update*
 •   CA currently receives ~2 million doses per week

 •   More than 42 million vaccines administered in CA with more than 20.3
     million people fully vaccinated and 3 million more partially vaccinated

 •   ~70% of people 12 years of age and older are at least partially
     vaccinated

 •   CA is averaging ~60,000 doses administered per day

Who Is Eligible & How to Book

• All Californians ages 12 and up are eligible to receive a COVID-19
  vaccine.

• Californians should visit MyTurn.ca.gov to schedule appointments
  when available. My Turn is available in 14 languages and those without
  internet or email access can call the COVID-19 Hotline at 1-833-422-
  4255 to assist with registration, which includes an extensive support
  center with the ability to help in more than 250 languages.

• Some local health authorities have additional vaccination
  appointments that can be found through the CDC’s VaccineFinder
  online tool.

Vax for the Win – CA’s Incentive Program
$50 cards – “You Call the Shot California”
Starting on May 27, the first 2 million Californians to start and complete their
COVID-19 vaccination will receive a prepaid virtual card or grocery gift
card from Kroger or Albertsons. Available while supplies last.

Tickets to Six Flags
Select vaccination sites are giving away tickets to any Six Flags park in
California while supplies last, including: Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags
Discovery Kingdom, Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles and Hurricane Harbor
Concord. Just get your first vaccine dose at a participating clinic, and
you’ll get a ticket.

Workplace COVID-19 Vaccination
•   May require that employees receive an FDA-approved vaccine (please
    note that the vaccines being used in the U.S. have an emergency use
    authorization from the FDA but are not yet considered fully FDA-approved)

•   Policy on vaccination cannot discriminate based on a protected
    characteristic, disability, or religion

•   Must provide reasonable accommodation for employee with a disability-
    related reason or sincerely-held religious belief for not being vaccinated

•   May ask employees for proof of vaccination (must maintain as a
    confidential record) or can use self-attestation

Workplace COVID-19 Vaccination
•   Encourage on-site workplace vaccination
    clinics (see next slide for details)

•   Allow employees to get vaccinated on work
    time

•   Cal/OSHA does not require employers to
    provide vaccinations

•   But Cal/OSHA does require effective
    training for supervisors and workers on:
    •   How to access testing and vaccination
    •   The effectiveness of the vaccination to protect against COVID-19

If you’re an employer who is interested in supporting your
employees in getting vaccinated, this page includes the
following information:

•   Types of vaccination support models
•   How to submit a worksite mobile clinic request
•   Other best practices to help employees access
    vaccines

Please note: if your vaccination need is for less than 100
employees/day, you may want to consider a different approach for
vaccinating your workforce. For any specific questions on the program,
please reach out to mobilevaccinesites@cdph.ca.gov
