L A RG ES T COMPE T I T I O N O F N O RT H A ME RI C A N W I N ES CALL FOR ENTRIES REGISTRATION DEADLINE NOVEMBER 20, 2020
WELCOME For the past 20 years, the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition has been devoted to wine — from what’s in the bottles to the people and places behind those bottles. Last year alone we had entries from across North America, including from 28 states and the country of Mexico, and our judges scrutinized 7,000 wines, ranging from light and fragrant to rich and powerful. Our intention has been to bring international attention to the complex flavors and regional distinctions that are created from grapes grown in a diversity of viticulture areas in North America. The people who make it are artisans who balance advanced technological tools with traditional approaches, and we believe they need to be recognized. Over the past two decades, the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition (SFCWC) has grown to become one of the world’s most respected and highly publicized wine competitions. The competition has established itself as a platform for large and boutique wineries alike to showcase their wines on a national scale and increase sales. Entries will be accepted from now until November 20th, and the wines will be evaluated in January 2021. We encourage wineries to go to winejudging.com for information about the competition, or they can go directly to enofileonline.com for immediate registration and entry. In cooperation with the San Francisco Chronicle, Northern California’s largest newspaper, which along with its digital properties reaches over 11 million adults each month, the SFCWC will provide heightened exposure to the award-winning wineries in 2021. Wineries will once again achieve award exposure through additional media outlets including print, radio, websites, blogs and social media. All awards will be listed online at at winejudging.com and remain there for the full year. We believe that this competition is a true barometer that consumers can use to educate themselves and measure premium wines. Thank you for your participation and good luck!
