It starts with understanding your preferred leadership and communication styles by completing a DISC+ profile assessment, and by exploring the skills, habits and values of a top leader, and understanding where you may need to close the gap. Building on this, you will learn about influencing without authority and having impactful, persuasive conversations with stakeholders. The module ends with “GMP In Action: BFM 89.9”, insights from the founder of BFM Media on building a startup to profitability in a highly competitive industry. AI & BIG DATA The advent of technology powered by analytics, robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) will reshape trade and economies. With labour-saving technologies, developed countries may depend less on low cost labour thereby causing a slowdown in foreign direct investment growth, technology transfer and rate of job creation in uncompetitive emerging markets. Malaysian companies face the risk of being unplugged from global value chains (GVCs) and losing their edge to more efficient players unless they step up. Professionals also need to keep abreast with digital transformation to ensure they are not left behind. Already 54% of jobs including skilled ones in Malaysia could be at high risk of being displaced by technology over the next 20 years, Khazanah Research Institute estimates. Our programmes aim at helping professionals use data, develop AI capabilities and lead digital transformation within their organisations. Taking a strategic view, you will learn big data/ AI use cases and implementation strategies, and how to: ■■ develop and test hypothesis, and predict outcomes ■■ make a case for investing in AI and big data capabilities ■■ evaluate, set up the infrastructure, and hire the right teams Join our programmes and future proof your career: ■■ Artificial Intelligence Jumpstarter * ■■ Data Science Jumpstarter * ■■ A.I. For Good Hackathon ■■ MY.AI events ■■ Digital Transformation (customised) * Prior programming skills not required. “Just as electricity transformed almost everything 100 years ago, today I actually have a hard time thinking of an industry that I don’t think AI will transform in the next several years.” Andrew Ng, co-founder of Google Brain and Coursera, and former chief scientist at Baidu Research 11
LEADERSHIP COMMUNICATION Outward Mindset For High Performance Pioneered by Arbinger Institute US, this programme moves participants from inward mindset to outward mindset. The former focuses on personal goals and objectives without considering the impact of behavior. This mindset is therefore prone to negativity, self-justification and blaming others. Most people stuck in this mindset may still feel they are doing good work and making real contribution, and yet be frustrating the organisation. When individuals and organisations transition to outward mindset, they are focused on big objectives and results. The outward mindset promotes an authentically proactive, open and collaborative culture. Behaviour, communication styles and actions change when mindsets change. Media, Presentation and Crisis Communication The most important skill leaders have is to be able to persuade when communicating with clients, colleagues, and the media. Learn from a former international television presenter on how to develop executive presence. Speak confidently at a conference, in front of the camera, and off the cuff. Acquire skills to handle difficult questions from aggressive journalists especially during a crisis. Training is conducted at a professionally set-up studio. Communication For Technical Professionals Speaking articulately and engaging your audience can be challenging if your subject is highly technical and if English is not your first language. Designed to help you sharpen your presentation, and improve your pronunciation and diction to be understood by a global audience. Suitable for those in management, science, technology and research. Write Like a Journalist Well trained journalists write with a punch and engage their audience. Learn the secrets of good writing and make a strong impression with your speeches, reports and research papers. These are in-house / customised programmes. 12
CUSTOM ONLINE CONTENT Organisations are using online platforms for training and education to be more time and cost effective, and to be available 24/7.
