Message from the First Lady Great leaders don’t set out to be a leader…. They set out to make a difference! In the six years Bill and I have been on our progressive Divan journey, we have had many role models, mentors, and advisors who have helped us. Some have traveled this path be- fore us, some have been the family of past Potentates and many have been Nobility and Ladies who have worked side-by-side with us to make fun activities and fundraisers suc- cessful. We have shared many trips, both near and far with them and amazing meals with more of you than we can count. As I think about these folks, I see years of dedicated ser- vice, continued commitment to the fraternity and philanthropy we know and love, as well as compassion and dedication to each other. They set out on their journeys to help make a difference and in doing so have become the leaders and mentors for so many. For those of you who are reading this and think, I am not a leader, I could never be a lead- er, I am just a helper, a worker….. I have news for you, You ARE a leader! You are quick to say yes when asked if you could help, you offer to stay late and clean up, you participate in fundraisers and you have always had a hug or smile to share. Always know that the world is a better place became YOU are in it! Shriners and those who love and support them, have a long history of dedication, and commitment. At the next stated meeting on September 14, 2021, we will be celebrating those members who have attained their 50 year anniversary as a Shriner. I invite you to join us and help them celebrate this amazing milestone in their Shrine journey, please con- tact the office to make your reservation. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who participated last month in the book drive donation for the Shriner’s Hospital for Children – Northern California. Together we donated school supplies, over 130 books, and provided with the Hospital with Amazon cards in excess of $1350.00 designated for the school room use. Together we continue to make a difference in the lives of deserving children! Hummingbird hugs, Debi Wells, Ben Ali 2021 First Lady © 2021 Ben Ali Shrine All rights reserved. September 2021
Message from the Director General Hey Everyone! I hope that summer is treating everyone well, and remember Autumn and cooler days are around the cor- ner. Not really….it’s still a couple of months off, but I’m trying to make you feel better. As many of you know since I have been talking non-stop about it, our first Command Parade of the year is the Nevada City Constitution Day Parade!!! The Grand Marshall is PGM John Trauner and the Chairman of the Parade Committee is Grand Senior Warden Sean Metroka! Our Potentate, the Illustrious Bill Wells and the rest of the Divan would like to have all the clubs and units participate to show the variety of ways that the Shrine offers fun and helps our children. Each Club or Unit shows a different way that a Noble can be involved in the Shrine and have some fun. There truly is something for everyone! Parades are also one of the best marketing tools we have as an organization. September 19, 2021 (the date of the parade) will be our Welcome Back Party. A Command Parade is a parade in which the Potentate expects all clubs and units to participate. I will moni- tor the status of the Command Parades and as the parades open for registration I will register the Shrine to participate. I will also keep the Clubs and Units posted as to the status of the parades. Clubs and Units start making your plans as the date is coming up fast! We have commitments from other masonic groups, and adding our groups to the line up will make the parade not only great for the Shrine but also for Masonry. The parade will be here before you know it so start making your plans today! Questions? Want to know more? Feel free to get in touch! We’ll see you in Nevada City!
