2018 Director Nominating Committees Set Nominating committees were appointed at the April 12 meeting of the board of directors. The following commit- tee members will be responsible for selecting slates of director candidates for their districts for the 2018 election of directors. District Two: Includes our service area in Guthrie, Pleasant Run and Shawswick Townships in Lawrence County and Polk Township in Monroe County. Nominating committee members are Jerry L. Fountain (chair), Jeffery T. Anderson and Jerry L. Holland. District Five: Includes our service area in Finley, Jennings, Johnson and Vienna Townships in Scott County and Graham Township in Jefferson County. Nominating committee members are Billy M. Comer (chair), Shannon Allen and Daniel D Robbins. District Eight: Includes our service area in Hamilton and Owen Townships and Brownstown Township north- west of White River, all in Jackson County. Nominating committee members are Casey Ritz (chair), Steven N. McCory and Kyle J. Kerkhof. Nominations by petition: Any twenty-five (25) or more members from within a district may make other nomi- nations for director from that district in writing by member petition not less than forty (40) days nor more than one hundred (100) days prior to the meeting of members at which directors are to be elected. JACKSON COUNTY REMC Beat the Peak - Energy Management Agreement I authorize Jackson County REMC or its agents (hereinafter referred to as REMC) to install and operate an energy management device(s) on the indicated equipment for the purpose of reducing the kilowatt demand during critical usage periods per the following terms and conditions: Primary Electric Water Heater Only Primary Central Air Conditioner/Heat Pump Only Primary Electric Water Heater & Primary Central Air Conditioner/Heat Pump 1) The member of record at this service location will receive any bill credits available from REMC for having the energy management device(s) connected and operational. 2) I agree to allow reasonable and timely access for REMC or its agents to inspect, repair, replace, or remove the energy management device. 3) I will protect the device(s) from loss or damage. If I depart the program, I will allow REMC to remove the device(s) in a timely manner. 4) If service is required on the connected equipment (i.e. electric water heater, central air, heat pump), the energy management device(s) will not be modified or disconnected. If the connected equipment is replaced, the device(s) will be reinstalled, and REMC will be notified for testing and verification. 5) REMC will assume responsibility of equipment repairs only if the failure is determined to be directly caused by the installation of the energy management device(s). Recipes Simply Delicious NO BAKE BUTTERSCOTCH AND by Nicole Ault PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES Communications/Public 3/4 cup butterscotch chips 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter Relations Specialist 2 cups chow mein noodles 1/4 cup M&M’s Melt the butterscotch chips with the peanut butter in a wide saucepan over low heat. Stir continuously until melted. Pour the mixture into a large bowl of the chow mein noodles and stir to combine. Fill up each compartment of your muffin tray with a spoonful of this mixture. Let cool for 10 minutes and remove from the tray. Be careful when you are removing, as to not break them. Add in some M&M’s. SLOW COOKER STEAK FAJITAS 2 lbs beef, sliced 1-2 bell peppers, sliced 1 onion, sliced 20 ounces salsa 2 tbsp fajita seasoning Soft taco shells (for serving) Add salsa to bottom of the slow cooker. Add beef, onion, bell pepper and fajita seasoning. Stir to mix well. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. Mango Peach and Strawberry Smoothie 1 1/2 cup frozen, peeled mango chunks, partially thawed 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries 1 cup fresh peach slices (2 medium peaches, pitted) 1 well ripened banana 2 cups chilled pineapple juice Add all ingredients to a blender and process until smooth.
