The Middle Weekend is one of the most popular
times to visit the Australian Open with the
tournament action moving into the 3rd and 4th
Rounds.
As well as the on court action, this is where all of the
entertainment comes into its own. There’s Grand
Slam Oval with interactive tennis experiences,
Coopers Beer Garden and fantastic food & drink in
the Paris Quarter.
The AO Ballpark Stage will be on again featuring
kids live shows, along with the Hot Shots mini-

Quarter Finals time at the Australian Open can see
an outsider’s unexpected run either continue with
a huge upset or fall at the hands of a hot favourite.
Either way it always throws up some fantastic
action and is always two days not to miss.
In 2017 in the women’s draw, Americans Venus
Williams, Coco Vandeweghe and Serena Williams
all made it through to the semis. They were joined
by unseeded Mirjana Lucic-Baroni who provided
the feel good moment of the tournament making
the semis 17 years after her last Grand Slam® semi
final appearance.
On the men’s side fan favourites Roger Federer
and Rafael Nadal progressed with straight set wins
and were joined by Grigor Dimitrov and former
champion Stan Wawrinka.

We’re down to the last four players on both the
men’s and women’s sides as they battle out the
semifinals to book their place in Australian Open
2018 Final.
Last year, in the women’s semi finals it was the
Williams’ sister show as tournament favourite
Serena booked her place in the final with a straight
sets demolition of Mirjana Lucic-Baroni, while
older sister Venus had to overcome dropping the
1st set to Coco Vandeweghe to eventually win her
way through in 3 sets.
In the men’s section, the 1st semi final saw an all-
Swiss contest with Federer prevailing in 5 epic sets
against Wawrinka, while in the other semi Rafael
Nadal also took 5 sets of intense tennis to win
through against Grigor Dimitrov.
