OUTHealth is the foundation’s newest initiative providing health services to the LGBTQ+ community by partnering with NYU’s Comprehensive Team of Health Professionals. In 2019, we will begin funding gender affirming surgeries and maintaining a dedicated fund for ancillary services for transgender patients. In addition to funding surgeries, we work with underprivileged patients to navigate New York State Medicaid requirements and develop post-op care including complimentary dedicated fitness classes for newly transitioned patients, support groups, make-up tutorials, career workshops, and more. We are working diligently to provide the LGBTQ+ community with dental health resources and assuring our professionals understand the common issues of the community.

OUR PARTNERS Krissy Mae Cagney, President of Doughnuts and Deadlifts “I am someone who falls into multiple underserved & underrepresented populations. I grew up as a bisexual addict who suffers from mental illness. Because I often felt like I had no voice, I GIVE in order to provide people like myself with a voice. Because I often felt hopeless, I GIVE in order to provide people like myself with hope. Because I was often told I should be ashamed of myself, I GIVE in order to reduce the stigma surrounding people who are a little different. There is absolutely nothing shameful about being queer. There is absolutely nothing disgraceful about suffering from mental illness or addiction. There is everything shameful & disgraceful about not having conversations about these things & normalizing them.
