With this system, golfers will be able to perform all their handicapping activities via multiple channels like Web, iOS or Android devices. To make it easier for our golfers to check and upload handicap scores after their games, CHS terminals have been specially set up at the Golf Registration Counter and outside the Golf Changing Rooms. 8 9 TEE TALK TEE TALK Golf Course Maintenance Update Golf Rules & Etiquette Completion of Bunker Upgrading at Aranda Course As part of our ongoing effort to enhance the golf course facilities, the Club upgraded the bunkers at Aranda For a fun golfing experience, keeping a good pace during golfing will help you enjoy the game better! When the course is declared open for play after suspension, players are permitted to continue with their game. However, if flights are unable to cross-over for their second 9 holes before 11.45 am, they have to stop after completion of their first 9 holes and make way for the subsequent sessions. Players who have paid for a full 18-hole play in the morning and are unable to turn around by 11.45am may approach our Registration Staff in exchange of a 50% discount green fee voucher that will entitle you for a full 18-hole play on Monday or Tuesday (except Public Holidays). This event was organised to show OCC’s heartfelt gratitude to our golfers who represented OCC in the SGA Inter-Club League 2016 which took place over a span of 8 months. It was definitely an intense and exciting match play. To reward all the players for their hard work and commitment, the League Appreciation was followed with a spontaneous and joyous dinner. This year’s tournament, hosted by Jurong Country Club, was held on 14 October 2016. A total of 13 golf clubs in Singapore participated in this event where each golf club sent its own representative team of ten ladies players to represent them. Team OCC comprised the following players, Lady Captain Susan Gan, Lady Vice-Captain Maureen Teo, Almaz Au-Yeung, Dily Ng, Jacqueline Lim, Jean Chan, Kim Sung Mi, Mary Wong, Oh Chew Khoon and Teng Mei Tung. The stableford points of the top six best players of each team were taken for the total score. Team OCC scored a total of 216 stableford points, followed by Seletar Country Club (1st runner-up) with 207 stableford points and Jurong Country Club (2nd runner-up) with 204 points. The theme for the prize presentation Dinner & Dance for this event was “Dancing Divas”. Each team had to choose a dance and their players dressed in costumes to showcase their dance. The ladies in Team OCC were dressed up in costumes from "The Great Gatsby" and did a great performance of the Charleston dance. 24 25 SOCIAL BUZZ SOCIAL BUZZ 22nd OCC Darts Invitational Learning Journey with nEbO On 22 October, a total of 11 teams from various clubs and associations took part in the 22nd OCC Darts 91 students from Si Ling Secondary School and West Spring Secondary School came to OCC for a learning Invitational. The team event saw Hawks, Team 245 and Forrest Darters winning the first, second and third cash journey on 19 and 25 October respectively. They were given a comprehensive introduction to the Club and the prizes respectively. The single event was held the next day where 25 participants had the opportunity to share interest group events at OCC. This was followed by a guided tour around facilities such as the Driving Range, pointers with one another and improve their skills. The top 2 winners walked away with cash prizes. Through this experience, the students had the opportunity to gain insights into the Club industry and the career path they wish to pursue. The students visited OCC and were then given an insight into the gym and sports counter operations as well as the lifestyle programmes and events available at OCC. They were impressed with the wide range of activities and expressed interest through active participation during the Q&A session. 27 SOCIAL BUZZ OPEN HOUSE On 12 November, the Clubhouses were bursting with energy as OCC’s Open House - Club MAD Day 2016, kicked off to great success. Participants enjoyed a full day of programmes ranging from bazaar stores and carnival games, to a club-wide location hunt. Known for spawning rare Pokémon in Niantic’s Pokémon Go game, OCC held a mini Pokémon catching competition where participants could win a mystery Pokémon gift. The day ended with the annual Christmas Light-up where the choir from nEbO and U Live led the crowd on a spirited sing-along of popular Christmas ballads. Zumba Mass Workout. 18th Super Sprint Series The 18th Super Sprint Series – Kids Fun Challenge on 12 November saw 106 young swimmers from eight swim schools participating across four different swim events. Those as young as three years old had their first swim competition experience ing Session. in a special challenge where they swam approximately 20 meters across the Perler Beads Mak pool’s breadth. This year, we have Armed with their rods and live baits, 52 fishing enthusiasts gathered at the Vanda course for the OCC Night come up with a new initiative to bring more fun and excitement to our members. The “Knowing Our Singapore Fishing Competition. Series” serves as a form of heritage trail where we take you to iconic and cultural attractions around Singapore. What is Quattor Swim School about? Reunioln “Quattor” simply refers to “The 4 Strokes of Swimming”. By focusing on the fundamentals skills of swimming, it is the perfect place to start your child’s swimming journey. Bow What do they specialize in? Quattor Swim School offers learn-to-swim programmes for children aged 3 ½ onwards. Lessons will take place on weekday evenings, offering more timeslots and specialised care for the children.
