Start off the festivities at the Education Building and Vanderhoef Commons (4610 X St. – see the map)
where you will pick up your Alumni Weekend program, nametag, and other treats.
9, 9:30 and 10 a.m. Informal Walking Tours of the Health Campus
See what’s new since you last visited campus and chat informally with your student guide.
11:30 a.m. Alumni Weekend 2022 official KICK OFF!
A pre-lunch welcome from leadership, setting the stage for the rest of the weekend!
12 – 1 p.m. Lunch with Students
Great opportunity to meet and talk with students. Share your experiences with them. Hear updates on
their Student-Run Clinics and their journey in medicine so far.
1 – 2 p.m. Forum: Our Sacramento Campus – What’s New, What’s Coming
Our Sacramento (Health) campus continues to evolve. Hear from campus leadership about plans for
everything from the Hospital’s California Tower to Aggie Square.
2:15 – 3:15 p.m. A Tribute to Faith Fitzgerald: Share Your Stories
An informal gathering to share memories of working with and learning from the late Faith Fitzgerald, MD.

3:30 – 5 p.m. Reunion Class Catch-up
Meet up with your classmates who’ve arrived for reunion and start reminiscing in earnest. We’ll provide
your yearbook and your class composite picture from when you arrived as a MS1! Bring your stories and
pictures to share and show-off.
6 – 8:30 p.m. All-Alumni Welcome Reception and Alumni Awards Presentation
at the new SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity
Eat, drink and be merry and celebrate our 2021 and 2022 School of
Medicine Alumni Awards recipients and a special nod to the Class
of ’72 for their 50th reunion. (Transportation provided.)

Saturday, April 9
8 – 10:30 a.m. Late check-in and registration
If you can’t check-in on Friday, make your first stop on Saturday the Education Building and Vanderhoef
Commons (4610 X St.) where you will pick up everything you need to enjoy the weekend.
8 – 9 a.m. Casual Heart-Healthy Breakfast
Start your day off right with a light, hot breakfast including delicious local fare.
9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Alumni Weekend Forums – Six Presentations
Hear from star faculty and deans about some of our latest innovations happening in medical education
and research at UC Davis Health. Choose from two hour-long concurrent sessions in each of three time
slots – 9 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Count on plenty of time for Q and A
and discussion.
Speakers will include: Garen Wintemute, MD’77, director of the Violence
Prevention Research Program; Mark Servis, MD, vice dean for medical
education; Vicki Wheelock, MD, director of the Huntington’s Disease
Society Center of Excellence at UC Davis; Ruth Shim, MD, director
of cultural psychiatry and associate dean of diverse and inclusive
education; Lydia Howell, MD, chair of the Department of Pathology
and Elizabeth Morris, MD, chair of the Department of Radiology –
co-directors of the Center for Diagnostic Innovation at UC Davis.

1 – 3:30 p.m. Informal Family-friendly Activities on the Vanderhoef Commons
Hang out with friends and family. Bring your kids. Face-painting and
other treats for kids. A time to catch up casually with faculty and staff.
1 p.m. Shuttle to Davis for “Afternoon in Davis” *

Class reunion dinner gatherings
Organized according to class request/initiative. Times and venue will vary and are to be determined. The Alumni Office
will assist with arrangements based on a class’s request. It could be a dinner at a restaurant or someone’s home, a casual

Cost:
Register before March 1, 2022, and our 2021-2022 Alumni Weekend package price is $60 per
person; after March 1 the fee is $75 per person.
This package includes all materials, tours, presentations,
parking, hospitality area refreshments, Friday lunch, the

at the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (including
transportation), Saturday breakfast and lunch and Saturday
afternoon intercampus (Sacramento/ Davis) shuttle service.
Remember: When registering, you must still indicate which
meals and activities you (and any guests) plan to attend.
