Page 2 Dear Peak Talent Group Families, It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2019- 2020 Talent Group Year. We have some wonderful performanc- es in store for you. In the fall we will be doing “Mary Poppins” and the Conifer Parade. In the Spring, we will be doing "The Great Gatsby", a beach/ocean fundraiser along with our pro- duction of "Teen Beach Movie", and a choreographic explora- tion for the June Recital. Who are the Peak Talent Group Students? Talent Group students are the best and brightest at Peak Acade- my of Dance. They are the students who love to perform and don’t mind putting in the extra time to make consistent perfor- mance part of their education. What do Talent Group Members do? Talent Group students are required to have a well rounded dance education. They learn a variety of different dance tech- niques and how to use them for a diversity of different perfor- mance opportunities. From Cruise Ships to Parades, from Pro- ductions to Outreach, Peak Talent Group Students reach their full potential by sharing their gift of dance with family, friends and their community. Why would students want to participate in the Talent Group Program? Talent Group students are the teams upon which great friend- ships are founded. Talent Group students have to learn to work cooperatively within their team as well as the greater Talent Group Program. They learn to draw from within and find their inner artistic voice through characterization and a variety of dif- ferent movements. Please take a careful look through this packet and call me with questions. It is a great honor to work with the future generation of our leading artists! Sincerely, Nicole O’Farrell, Peak Talent Group Director nofarrell.peak@gmail.com and 720-292-6575

If an issue arises with another dancer, I will first approach them and try and work it out. If this fails I will immediate- ly share the issue with a staff member or parent. I will find things that I like about other dancers at the studio and share these positive things with them. Failure to Comply: Each time that an issue arises that is NOT resolved, it will be noted. After three unresolved issues, parents/ guardians will be notified and a meeting will be set up. The meet- ing will determine a course of action to take. I will not talk back to a staff member if they have asked me to do something, like pick-up after myself. I will not talk behind a staff members back or mumble things about them under my breath. Page 7 Peak Academy of Dance Spring Productions for 2019-2020 The Great Gatsby: The Great Gatsby follows a cast of characters living in the fictional towns of West Egg and East Egg on prosperous Long Island in the summer of 1922. The sto- ry primarily concerns a young and mysterious millionaire and their ob- session with a beautiful former debu- tante. The Great Gatsby explores themes of decadence, idealism, re- sistance to change, social upheaval, and excess, creating a portrait of the Roaring Twenties that has been described as a cautionary tale regarding the American Dream. PT, Company and Sr. Talent Dates & Times: March 13th at 7:30pm, 14th at 1:00, 3:00 & 5:00, Location: Gray Duchess Theatre Teen Beach Movie: Watch as two surf- ers get swept under a rogue wave and magically transport into a 1960's classic beach party flick, Wet Side Story. They encounter a full blown rivalry between bikers and surfers battling for control of a local hangout. As singing and dancing constantly break out, these two characters accidentally change the storyline... This will be a fun production with a serious mis- sion. We want to use this as a fundraiser for a beach/ocean that will be chosen by the Talent Groups.
