PGAIR’s Role “PGAIR is committed to researching, monitoring, recommending and implementing air quality improvements and promoting public awareness and education in the Prince George airshed, with the goal of improved air quality in our community”
AQ Management Planning Phase 1 Identified measures 1998-2007 to address fine particulates Emissions Phase 2 2007-2011 inventory, Clean Air Bylaw Phase 3 2011-2016 Set clear targets, coordinated action
Community Targets (PM2.5) By December 31, 2016: Ambient Source • 24 hr average of ≤25 µg/m3 • 40% reduction (from 2005 • annual average of 5 µg/m3 levels) on all significant emission sources

Challenges – Public Perceptions Prince George's issue isn’t After all the forest fires cars or houses. Its the pulp this year, I'll lose it if and refineries. anybody gives me a hard time about burning in our new [he] wood stove. I love my wood stove and wouldn’t give it up for any other heat! Fire is nature's way of fixing itself...no way I would give up wood heat
