Presentation Aims
To Understand:
WHY? HOW? & NEXT STEPS!
Angling Trust Increasing Angling Participation and Rod Licence Sales - Dean Asplin - Senior Regional Officer - The Institute of Fisheries Management
Why?
• The future of angling depends on large numbers of people
  continuing to take part.
• If numbers continue to decline there is a real danger this
will lead to the closure of more angling clubs, fisheries and
  tackle shops.
• It is estimated that 40,000 UK jobs are reliant on angling.
• The angling infrastructure could start to fall apart.
• Rod licence funding would decline reducing the funding for
the Environment Agency to manage fisheries/water bodies.
